we used the biggest old wheel bearings we could get and fitted them to home made wooden axles, they were fast down the concrete pathways down long streets, now the goodie two shoes would have you arrested lol.place is fuked.

Yep, small rocks where a problem with those metal wheels…instant brakes and you went flying.

Ahhha....found a pic of the skateboard with a handlebar that is almost like the ones I made for my little sisters--
 Add a white basket full of dolls and there you have it....lol And pics of what many us built back in "the day"--

My dad was in the Sporting Goods business and jumped on the phenomena he saw in the neighborhood. He saw what the kids were building and bought roller skate wheel assemblies and had a guy that had a woodworking shop make and finish off the boards and assemble them. He then sold them to his clients. This was in the early 60’s.
