Killer Queen Redux characteristics and observations
I'm a noob grower currently growing some blueberry and Killer Queen Redux. My last attempt to grow (GN G13xLocxHP) ended in disappointment with all males, did not let that get me down and am back trying again this time with far larger numbers lol.
Anyways, germinated 5 of the KQ reduxs. All germinated very quickly and started growing very well under 400watt hp + a couple of fluros. Compared to the blueberrys, the KQ's are far hardier and easier to keep happy. The leaves have a nice jagged texture on them and are very large and fat indica like. The node growth seems to be extremely compact, with little to no stretching what so ever. All and all very happy with the KQ's durability so far and looking forward to seeing some crazy buds. Here is a picture u can see the KQ's are the big mofo's with the wide shoulders. Anyways a question to anyone growing this strain currently or in the past. The most immature of the 5 seedlings to come up showed some male parts appx 5 days ago. The other 4 are showing no signs of preflowering at all. These 4 are quite a bit larger and a few days more mature then the male we chopped. Is this normal? I have read it can be difficult to sex females of some strains and was wondering if that was the case with this. Ovbiously if that is the case, the easy way to identify a female would be lack of male parts. Basically, if I wait 1-1.5 weeks since the runt showed male parts, and still see nothing... am I pretty safe to assume that the remainder are females? Thanks! |

Give them a bit longer to sex....otherwise you take a chance of culling too soon. Alternatively, you can take some close-up internode pics and show what you are seeing.

Well some of these bad bitches finally decided to make their lady presence known. The females do eventually show, but it did seem like the male showed way way early. Will be interesting to see if other's notice the same thing. I took some pictures of these beauties. Can't wait to cut some clones tomorrow!
