Attack of the Attic (In O Major)
Well guys and gals...
I got meself an attic! HOT IN THE SUMMER FREEZIN IN THE WINTER A climate control junkie's dream come true! I'll be buying two 6" Vortex 449CFM to handle all the airflow. This will take a TON of experimenting and just plain true testing with the weather outside. This is what I started with, although it was even worse when I first went up there. Some brainiac got cheap and blew in shredded newspaper for insulation. There's no doubt this stuff works....when piled on 24" but what a MESS!!! Poly went down under each sheet of plywood (Ten in ALL). I created side walls as well to contain all the swept aside insulation. This is after getting half of the plywood down. Screws will make it easier to adjust with conditions. There will be plenty more UPADTES SOON. I got some strains lined up - tough tough tough choices and more construction pics! Later OH

Looks like you're gettin' er done! My attic space looks much like yours (general shape and dimension) and you're definately right about the climate control! It looks like you have a good start going there!
A word of warning. You may want to bomb that room before you get all the plywood down. This will keep you from compartmentalizing a possible infestation in your sweet new space. Edit: I need to read better. Poly down first. Gotcha! Go Henry! Go!

Awesome. You'll be after me. HC, then me, then you. You'll be at about the late January, maybe February crop. I'll have many new, exciting clones (straight from Lonestar at TRC) to share by then too.
Oh... For working in a tight attic like that... Get yourself a short seat... A seat much like a mechanic's rolling dolly... Make the seat roll on wheels. That way you can sit and work, instead of crouch, lay down, etc. Just roll around  That's what I would do. shit. Rock and Roll! cc

We've got our rotation going for sure!
Hey Doob and Wang...thanks for dropping by! I will be junking the old grow box I had made from 2x4's but the great thing about that is I am reusing the wood in this grow to support the infustructure. Johnbudd just dropped me a line on some new clones!!! Some Herrar and Hashplant sound tasty! JB your grow looks SICK man. Can't wait to see it again! I'll have more pics tomorrow. Later OH

Good luck O - I have done attic grows before... and this is the time to do it in my region. It got really cold after a while, so I put down a water proof electric blanket with a tarp over it to help keep the root zone warm, like a giant seedling mat. That and an oscillating heater on a timer helped bet through the bitter months.

Looks good OH
I have an underground walk space under my house. You just gave me some ideas. How tall is it in there? I think I got about 6.5'.. I will go home and re-check it tonight. I wonder if I would have to get a grow room permit for under the house construction? ha ha..

Hi Hurricane- Thanks for dropping by.
Hi MS. The idea of throwing down a blanket sounds cool. I may begin to "box" in my grow space to better control the climate. I'm not sure though....still in the engineering phase. The fans are on order so I'm hoping to get that out of the way soon. Bucket, do you have a flower room and veg room? That sounds like a good place for one of the two! 6.5 ' is plenty tall. Temp and humidity would be my concerns. Does it get wet when there's alot of rain? Mold SUCKS! Thanks guys. I'm working on it all night so make sure to check in for updates. OH |
