Hey man, as a californian I can tell you we're all pretty chill throughout the state. Northern California has a huge marijuana culture, but its present everywhere. I would suggest anything north of san francisco, mainly Marin, Sonoma, Mendocino, Trinity, Humboldt and alameda. Gotta have love for the north! I am biased though...

Get a job before you get here, unless you already have enough cash to buy a house you're pretty much fucked cause there are hardly any jobs out here. Lived here my whole life, took me 4 months to find a job.

Just like ocean said, get a job here and let that dictate where you go. as for getting around, almost everyone drives thats why smog is so bad in metro areas. If you want that city life than live near a metropolitan area, bus and other transit systems in every city, But really I think anywhere in the state is cool, we all have our distinct differences. What else are you looking for...Young people, old people, lots of females, what do you want in your city and what can you afford? for instance socal is expensive and if you live near the coast the price goes up the closer you get to water.

Like others have said, bring lots of cash, cost of living is way higher than most of the country. Also the best places are on the coast, so that raises the prices even more.

Jobs are non-existent, even our damn illegal aliens are leaving (thank God) because there is no work.

If you plan on making money off growing you need to remember there is a lot of competition out here, so bring your A game and be willing to cut deals.

It is possible to move out here and be successful, especially if you are a hard worker and good with people. It's just not going to be a walk in the park for anyone out here in Cali.

you will need a car if you are going to grow and live in CA wherever you wind up.

um... most pot friendly city that is easy to get around in without a car... SF no doubt; will cost u an arm and a leg to be there though... u could probably live in a less pot friendly place and have a car cheaper than u could without a car in SF... all that aside SF wins hands down end of story for what you're looking for
