Colorado Springs is turning in to quite the battleground for Medical Marijuana with the Colo. State Constitution on one side and the "Good ol' Boys" on the other.

"District Attorney Dan May told The Gazette’s opinion department Wednesday that he contacted the landlord of a medical marijuana business because of a desire to get the business out of his neighborhood. City Councilman Sean Paige had criticized the phone call in an e-mail to The Gazette on Wednesday, characterizing it as part of a high-level campaign of “meddling and behind-the-scenes string pulling” to undermine the Colorado Constitution’s Amendment 20, which protects medical marijuana."

P.S. Look at the poll on the right, at the time of this posting 73% of the readers think that the DA abused his authority!

One could almost predict what will occur at the Battleground State level.

It appears that EACH and every new MMJ State will have to go through the Growing Pains (pun not intended) that California is STILL going through.

These exact assertions were floated in CA. And still are.

No surprises there-- Colorado Springs is a bastion of conservative politics that have proven a failure for the last twenty some odd years. Because of the fact that CO Springs has not raised taxes in that time period, beginning about two weeks ago the street lights have been turned off, the grass in public parks will not be mowed/watered and the staff of the police/fire depts. will be cut down by half (the police thing might not be so bad). CO Spgs. is a disgrace to Colorado, it should be made an extension of Utah in my opinion.

Yes they are in fact killing the one thing that could help to pull in some much neede tax revenue.

Its here people the flood gates have been opened and there is no way to stop the water.

MMJ is a legal and taxable income just accept it it is 2010 after all.

i work at pure medical and we have had problems with mr may for awhile now all he is doing is wasting tax payers time and money...what can he do... nothing were are in a properly zone area and 95% of are patients live in the hoa community that is targeting us. how are you suppost to help out your community when your taking away from it .we keep to are self and bother no one. well got to go got a patient
