Does anyone know the background of the strain K2? i did a search and came up empty...heard it was cannibus cup winner too. I gots these from nirvana seeds back in the OG days...anyway i ended up giving them to friends but they either died or got the mites... i had 1 seed left which i sprouted and now it turned out to be a female...at the moment she is in revegg mode...i will be growing her in and outside of my swc/tron system of course.:dance013:

PhilCuisine, how did you like the K2? Since you're going to be revegging the plant I presume you enjoyed it?
I once had the opportunity to smoke some K2, grown by the owner of a growshop, somewhere around 2004. He and his friends were raving about the herb, and when I finally got to try it, I found it bland taste-wise, with a weak high. Maybe it was harvested too early, or the guy grew a random pheno from the pack that was weak. Anyway, I am pretty sure it was a bad representation of K2, since I've heard many positive reviews on it.
Maybe the guy just put too much tobacco in his joint... :dunno:

Hi Phil,
I grew some K2 that was gifted to me. Don't know the source. I knew it was a white strain but didn't know that it was a kush/ww cross.

Anyway, It wasn't the highest yielding strain...though surely will do OK for you outdoors. I liked the high and potency. I was growing a crazy mix of plants and don't have any details on growing characteristics.

Here's a little blurb I found and they mention WW only in that they are in the same "White" family of ganja...

K2

A classic strain, K2 is a long-standing, reliable commercial Dutch strain known for its easy cultivation, as opposed to the other White strains that it is classified with. White Widow, for instance, is similar to K2 in its production of small forming plants equipped with tight, compact buds. Yet, K2 is much more simple to grow than its other white siblings.

I didn't find it any easier to grow except it didn't seem to be Mg deficiency prone like WW.

left so i germed it and turned out to be a female...so now i have it in revveg mode..when it revegg then i will take some cuttings..to pass out to grow buddies..Hope this helps.:dance013:

Ps, the reason i posted this thread is coz i thought the the leaves looks like of Kush origin. Guess i was right.

there was a strain called k2 in montreal circa 1990 and seeds where available from a small headshop in montreal city nearby duluth str and saint laurent . they where the only one selling high times mag in the fucking town , ht was illegal in canada then . this place is closed since + 10 years now

thats was way before nirvana , no idea if the strain is the same

K2 [Homegrown Fantaseed] was short and compact with a nice layer of resin,, in shape it grew like Sensi Star,, although the effects were different.

Flowering - 7-8 weeks
Flavour - Aniseed/Earthy
Effects - Upish High (and Body Stone)
Training - Not reccomended from my experiance, didn't like being scrogged at all and produced more as an untopped tree

The K2 is a classic. Nice Potency, speedy high with an indica-taste, good yield, nice taste. The genetic background is said to be pure NL with some Sativa in it. It is rumored, that the Sativa is a Thai, but there is no proof. Problems are mentioned about mites and mold just before the harvest.

K2 is a nice strain, that can be compared with the White Widow.

There are two K2 clones in BC.
One is from the Whistler area....not sure if it around any more.
The other is from the interior and it is more of a sativa than indica. Very nice smooth smoke, comfortable buzz.

Nirvana K2 was quite bomb and yieldy. One plant gave massive single cola. Short and compact. In soil, 10L about 50g dry. Bedtime smoke. Read that HGF version should be slightly better. :tiphat:

:tiphat:this one will have 4 good size colas. i need to keep this strain going and pass out cuttings in my hood, i got these seeds from Nirvana from the OG days...Hope this helps.:dance013:

There was k2 clones doin the rounds in amsterdam round 2001 2002 and they were super easy to grow.They were for sure big producers and frosted in resin.However the taste was very very dutch commercial weed and while the high was good to start with i have never built up tolerance to a weed so quickly as i did with the k2.All that being said i still would never discard a seed from nirvana some people complain about them being unstable but there is some gold buried in those packs i have seen it with my own eyes.Best of luck with your k2

From Nirvana gear back in 2002-03, Top 44 and Hindu kush were most bland and commercial type of weed what we tested. K2 was from another planet compared to those. Liked that and still someone mention that from time to time, that it was good strain. :tiphat:

K2 from Nirvana is a backcross with k2 from Homegrown Fantaseeds and this baby is a cross between White Widow and Hindukush hope this helps
