It would be my pleasure:)
...to be a tester for DJ Short's genetics
I am the strong silent-type, i.e.: do not post very often, and have been growing for many years both indoor and outdoor with DJ's work. Flo has been very good to me, and of course nobody should be without some Blue Moonshine in their garden I will be watching out for his new lines to surface and will certainly be adding them to my collection one-way or another ![]() Cheers RC_Colas |

It has become clear to me lately - DJ has occasionally said so - that his strains are evolving. As an example, he's not using the same mother and/or father in the Blueberry line as he used to. So if genetics change, but the name does not, then certain strains will need updates, and re-evaluations. Or as they say, you're only as good as your last strain...

doing test grows is a great idea. who are the people who will be growing his stuff? We are! if your a shit grower or a good one doesnt it show the versatility of a strain if every1 likes it no matter how good/bad you are a growing.
Im no wonder grower but the one thing i do do is keep my plants healthy and finish them properly. im a consistent grower that has practiced most techniques. ive mad the fuck ups and have learned the hard way. |

DJ Short Blueberry Test Results
Greetings. I have grown at least 200 DJ Short seeds in my day. I began years ago with his Blueberry, and pretty much tested everything else I could find of his through the years. Flo, True Blue, Cocoa Kush, Vanilluna, Grape Krush, and Dutch Passions Blueberry just to run a side-by-side comparison (spoiler alert, dutch passion blueberry is lame, although the skywalker is potent and yields), and some crosses made with DJ's blueberry but not from him.
Blueberry: My favorite of all his work, by far. Also, possibly the best smelling/tasting herb I've grown EVER, and I live in CA and grow elite clone only strains like Stardawg, Strawberry Cough, Blue Dream, Sour D, OG Kush, Blackberry Kush, Jack Herer, Adonai Kush ect. The thing about some strains is they smell amazing in veg, Blueberry is probably the epitomy of this. The cough is pretty amazing too with regards to veg scent. The Blueberry is slow to veg but picks it up around three weeks. She will get super dark green if you run advanced indoor systems. When DJ describes it as a strain "that can do well under optimal conditions" he really means: she will herm for sure at your first mistake, and under optimal conditions she will yield well but not great. Outdoors I've seen her get 6 feet tall from seed, un-topped of course. The stalks are completely purple, and the general secondary pigmentation is incredible. Zero green left in the fan leaves by harvest in this bio-dynamic food garden. Indoors, I've kept her alive for years, and even spread her out to the medical community. She holds up well over time, and after 15 or so generations from seed was still killing it. I found her crosses to be much more pest/pathogen resistant than the Blueberry. The high from Blueberry is longer lasting than most herb today. And goes from full on indica to full on sative depending on the pheno. IMO there are three indica phenos and one sativa. And the sativa is a bitch to grow indoors, and two of the three indica phenos are low yielders. Also, with all DJ beans, I've found lots of mutants. The strongest herb i've ever grown was a mutant true blueberry, it barely yielded, and the affects were similar to .... hmm... not weed... uh... drugs? DJ is the man and his beans are some of the most widely available! Eff feminized seeds, keep the dicks around for the sake of diversity! |

Seems like some of the best testers are those who buy the beans cuz they want them. I always have better results when I have more invested in the grow. Don't get me wrong, media, nute's, electricity, risk, equipment and water are not cheep. Just seems those asking for free beans don't always have the best intentions. I first need to get through the beans I have, next I will be running some of DJ's gear. I have some White Bubba x Vanilluna I have high hopes for and some OG x BS2.2 I'm hopping to make a few crosses with. The ESP (Chem-D x Blueberry) is ready to take cuts, this is a cross I have been waiting a while to run and am so excited I'm well on my way. Keep up the good work all of ya and thank you DJ for all you bring to the community. Peace pot and karma, One Love
