Hi, I will be doing a nice hempy grow of 100% perlite in the future and would like to know how Miracle-Gro All Purpose Plant Food and Schultz Bloom Plus Plant Food would work? I don't want to have to spend too much money on nutes and I already had both of these lying around and just wanted to know if anyone has had success using these or if they really are just crappy nutes. I completed one soil grow without nutes, but damn was that yield shit, so now I want to at least add a little something. The only thing I was thinking of purchasing was maybe CalMag since I've heard that Cannabis loves magnesium.

The MG Tomato plant food works better then the all purpose. Never tried Schultz.

The Mel Frank targets are a 1:1 ratio N:K, but tomato food tends to be more like 1:1.5 N:K ratio, which I think is better. Tomatoes require very little P, so there is very little in the mix. K is where it's at, in my mind.

Shultz is the better stuff, no doubt, nice dark loamy stuff. MG is inconsistent as far as texture. I used both in my early days before the environment became an issue with me as well as flavor of my smoke.
You really should consider going organic. Get some Promix BX a non-nuted grow medium which has moisture retaining conditioners (perlite/vermiculite) and add the organics you need to this mix. Better weed and better taste!

I thought that hydroponically grown marijuana can taste very good as long as it is properly flushed, dried and cured. I have decided to go hempy since it is very simple as I am a beginner while also showing impressive yields and being relatively cheap. Once I can do things without barriers, I plan to go either pure organics or somehow adding coco to it.

I've seen a couple of grows that used Schultz with good results. I was shocked at how well they did. One of the grows was on GC and was the dudes first grow.

So, yeah. You can get away with it. If your in soil I'd pick up some unsulphured Blackstrap Molasses and add that to your feed. Tbsp. per gallon or there about.

Does Blackstrap Molasses not go well with a perlite medium? I was thinking maybe trying to make this hydro-organic with perlite as my medium and maybe just using organic nutrients? Any suggestions?
