what would be the max size of plant sog. i know they dont penetrate far like hid but was wondering max size of plant at harvest without popcorn buds. without side lighting. thanks.

The plant in the photos below, is a Maui Wowie that I chopped recently out of my garden. The first photograph shows the entire plant, which stood about 40" tall, and was kept roughly 6" from the light during the latter stages of bloom. The lights we were using were the 60 degree 1st generation 126W's.

In the first image you see a bud circled about half way down (roughly 2 feet from the light). This same bud appears in the second photo, with an item next to it for a size reference. The last photo shows what the buds at the bottom of the plant looked like, which were about 3.5 feet from the light. Using this data you should be able to visually determine how tall you want your plants to be, in order to achieve the results you are after.
