Fresh trim and hang drying?
Hey, I just chopped my plants from my first grow. I plan on saving the trim and tiny immature little nugs for hash or whatever. Should I put this directly in the freezer or let it dry out first? Also, do you have to hang your buds to let them dry or can they simply sit out? Thanks

I'd dry the stuff first before freezing it - if you freeze it wet, it will be a slimy mess when you thaw it.
I hang my buds to dry them; they dry more evenly and don't get flat spots. When they are just dry enough for the stems to kind of crack instead of bending, then I put them into a container to finish drying slowly (cure). Mason jars are the usual container; open the jars once a day, remove the buds, and then put them back in. This allows the damp air to escape and prevents mold. After they are pretty much completely dry, then you can open them less often; when they are completely cured, then you just open the jars to take out some for consumption. Here's a thread that covers a lot of info on drying & curing bud: https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.p...ghlight=curing |

I know that but I let some fan leaves sit in a garbage bag for a few days and they got rotten and nasty really quick. Is it better to spread all of this out on a table?

I would totally hang them up, either using a argricutural net and clips, or some strings (hung from wall to wall), or even a clothes hanger and clip the buds on, or even with paper clips (unfold paperclip, and stab the end through one of the roots and hang up). But I suggest hanging them, because if you dry them on the floor or anywhere confined, mold will be more of your problem.
Make sure the temps around 75°-85°F. Make sure theres little humidity. Enough so the buds don't dry out too quickly, but not enough so theres no mold, etc... I suggest RH (relative humidity) to be around 60% until four or five days, then lower it to around 50%. They should dry by then, then lower it to around 40% for a day or two to completely dry the bigger buds. Then you're ready to cure. Last edited by vill; 09-22-2005 at 06:12 PM.. |

If you have a lot of loose stuff, try laying it out on a screen or net. Flat on the table doesn't work as well - a screen will allow air to circulate underneath as well as on top.

just stick em on the back of the tv for a few days, they'll soon dry up no worries.
