Ok.....Heres the background INFO

This is my first grow with Hydro......Hybrid Aero SWC


400 watt HPS hortilux on 18/6, 265 cfm blower

Nirvana Afghani - 26 days old from when the seeds broke ground



here is what is in the res right now in 10 gallons of distilled water
-Pure Blend Pro Veg - 27ml
-Liquid Karma - 19ml
-Cal Mag+ - 11ml
-Silica Blast - 7 ml
-Earth Nectar - 6ml
-Earth Ambrosia - 6ml
-Turantula - 7ml
-Superthrive - 15 drops
The Pump for the Sprayers runs 30 minutes on 90 minutes off in the light cycle, and 15 min on 105 min off in the dark cycle.

I mixed it up Saturday and it ppm'd at 230, then I powerheaded it for 24 hours and switched it out with my reservior water

I checked it today and it ppmed at 211, PH somewhere between 5.7-6 ( Im using the drops to check pH so it isnt too accurate)

6/8 of the plants are showing signs of this, its like necrosis in the margins of the older leaves






They look good other than that, and the roots are doing really good.....




I have heard that afghani is sensitive to over fertilization, so I am trying to take it easy, I am running 1/4 the recomended light veg dose.

Hopefully somebody can shed some light on this problem.....

looks like a Magnesium Deficiency try flush and only adding 1/8 strength then go up from there.

You think it is some sort of lockout?

They are doing pretty good except for these spots on the lower leaves





Those pics are from a day or two ago, They have literally doubled (or more) in size in the past week.

That is except for 2 out of the 8 that are doing shittier than the rest, 1 is pretty bad off and might get culled if it doesnt snap back into shape

I will take some new pictures here a little later when I get some time

It looks like a ph problem. That will cause lockouts. Ive had to run through a couple hydro grows without a ph pen (both times the piece of shit stopped working properly a few weeks into veg)
and they turned out fine. Im sure they could have been better, but both time they seemed to recover the older they got from early ph fluctuations. I'm saying this cause yours seem to have recovered and shot up. I'll usually run plain water through for a day every other week and then just let the nutes lower the ph for me.

Yeah true, I think I will do that 24 hrs of plain water at the end of this week that sounds like a pretty good idea

I haven't been adjusting the PH at all, Like I said in the first post, I just mix the nutes 24 hrs in advance and then power head it until I change it out. The Pure Blend Pro is supposed to be self PH buffering, but from what I have read, it only really works optimally when you are running a dose of 30ml / Gallon, which is about what I have in mine total....

I guess I need to buy a PH pen and start adjusting the PH more often

Ok....well now I have 3 replies, with 3 different answers.....

My Camera is finally charged so here are some updated pics from this morning.











As you can see, Overall they are doing really well. It is now just these two plants, and the one more so than the other.

I think what could be contributing to this is when I switched my res out 2 sundays ago, I had to take the lid off of my reservior and set it somewhere with the roots dangling below, and I had it out just long enough that some of the roots started to dry and shriveled a little. I think it is possible it affected these plants more than the others.......But who knows

They are starting to grow in their pre-flowers, so I have been looking them over pretty closely trying to sex them, I haven't seen a single bug in there yet, but I will keep looking

I sometimes get that on lower leaves if they come in contact with other things or any residual organics is on them for too long.

Do you spray them with anything?

Only thing they have ever been sprayed with is distilled water with nothing added to it, but I haven't sprayed them for at least a week and a half

Sometimes water droplets come out the litle gap between the neoprene insert and the top of the netpot and get on the plants, but wherever I have seen these droplets I never see any subsequent burn

I just hope to get at least 2 Females out of my healthy Plants, I already know (95% sure) that I have at least 2-3 males in the lot of healthy ones, so that sucks

Overall though I am really happy with my first hydro grow, I will get all the details down eventually
