The new Independent Scientific Committee on Drugs, formed by sacked Drug Czar David Nutt, has acquired a big backer with attitude! The twenty scientists that Dr. Nutt has assembled can thank a Hedge Fund manager named Toby Jackson for backing this new venture to the tune of 450,000 pounds.

It seems this hedge fund guy isn't like most of them. He's decided to give something back to society, in this case a completely independent commission to study and report the TRUTH about drugs without government (political) interference.

This is the way to do it folks, BIG PRIVATE money has to come in to support legalization. Otherwise the governments with their propaganda machines will always rule the day.

I figure the hedge fund manager/person probably smokes himself and got tired of the government sponsored BS that was being spewed forth so he decided to fund the truth.

So at least a three yr wait, if it does get funded all the way. Never mind, iv'e waited 30 yrs already.
I have been follwing the story of Proff Knutt, and have faith in him.At least it may open a few doors......

I'm glad this has happened to be honest, i hope they can make a business out of it so it doesn't last just three years for them, encouraging that some of the staff will be people that resigned after his sacking, i think it may be time for the useless bunch of assholes we call a government over here to actually shape up or ship out. It's been a long time coming.

The best thing is that Prof. Nutt already has a public profile and the ear of the media....makes his message much easier to get out there than tiny little cannabis pressure groups like the LCA (Legalise Cannabis Alliance).

He has credibility and kudos that our cause previously lacked in the mainstream media.

Sock it to em Prof Nutt! Well done Mr Jackson too, for putting up the doe to get this project up and running! Hopefully hard evidence from this group entered into the public domain will have the desired effects that we are all seeking after. I will be keeping a close eye on their findings. Nice post Skip!
