Sour Diesel crosses (circa '05)

So this may not be the right place to post this, but I couldn't find a Cannacopia thread other than the "Test Grows" thread.

So Cannacopias Chuck D description reads (excerpt): We have used the original Sour Diesel clone in producing this hybrid seed with our highly select Deep Chunk indicas. The mother Sour Diesel was named High Times plant of the year in 2005, and she is truly some of the finest, dankest weed going.

I am currently growing some Chuck D and got bored last night and looked up the High Times Strain of the Year in '05 (found here) and it said the Sour Diesel in question was bred by Reservoir Seeds.

I was just wondering what to expect in a cross like this . . . would Deep Chunk be expressed more dominantly than SD? Anyone who has even a guess would be helpful. I'm pretty new and just like to learn as much as I can about what I'm growing, so I thought I'd ask.

The sour diesel it sounds like there talking about in there cross is the East coast sour diesel clone........Thats the one Rez cross bred and the in crossed 5 or 6 generations to what he offers now as a sour diesel Male female seed line based on the original East coast sour diesel clone.

Deepchunk is made by TomHill, cannacopia crossed the female East coast sour diesel clone to a deepchunk male, which they call chuck D.

Probabely deep chunk dominant, with a bit of flavour added from the sour diesel clone and frosty as all hell.

This thread should have been posted in the Cannacopia seed vendors forum, they would be able to answer your questions the best seeing as how it's there cross that they made.

Hope this helped a bit.

Thanks for the reply, that helped a lot.

If an admin can move this there (Cannacopia Seed Vendors Forums), that'd be cool.

I'm growing out 5 or6 females, cant remember which, I got from 10 seeds.

They're about week 3 of flower. I'm cloning the girls and best boys, as I really want to make F2s and look for the SD pheno. 2 of my girls had hermy bits near the bottom of the plant, so I wont use those in beeding.

They're frosting up nice and are reaching 3 to 4 feet in height.

hey mate, i have some SD destroyer at the moment, but the female used was another sd phenotype from rez ibl (not the ecsd). it seems the SD is a little bit more dominant, at least her best characteristics are kept, that are smell and heavy resin production with few leaves. have a look at the thread of my grow in my signature.

Hmm, a mod moved this thread here, but this isn't the right place, as Canncopia doesn't seem to visit here and this is just for their test grows.

Doesn't appear anyone knows the answer, maybe REZ can come back and give me the final say. So the Sour Diesel in this cross is this Sour Diesel, and is a clone of the following (excerpt from https://hightimes.com/grow/dan/4296):

"East Coast Sour Diesel
Breeder: Reservoir Seeds
Sour Diesel is undoubtedly the world’s most expensive pot. With yuppies on Wall Street paying $800 to $1,000 per ounce, no wonder it’s so hard to find. Once acquired, however, the real-deal East Coast Sour Diesel reveals what makes it so desired. Powerfully potent with an unmistakable grapefruit taste and lemony odor, ECSD betrays its OG Kush parentage. Known as a low yielder and notoriously difficult to cultivate, the sativa-dominant Sour Diesel takes 70 to 85 days to flower, but it’s well worth the wait. When flowered at 18 inches tall, the plant will easily grow to five feet by the time it’s done, making ECSD perfect for extreme training techniques such as Screen of Green. The strain is “clone-only,” meaning seeds of the original mother plant don’t exist, but Rezdog of Reservoir Seeds has back-crossed the original Sour Diesel several times and is close to establishing it as a stabilized IBL (Inbred Line). The seeds he sells are guaranteed to grow Sour Diesel plants.
Indoor flowering time: 10 to 12 weeks
Available at seedbay.com or seedboutique.com"
