Idea for non-DIY angled shelving, too crazy?!

I have been spending lots of time trying to figure out how to easily construct or re-purpose something, so I can have angled shelves for my next vertical grow. I've also been highly sick of watering individual pots, beds seems a bit impractical for my circumstance.

I saw some stackable bins which might work well for plants needing 1 gal pots (which is what I do...) these ones are cheap 4.99 -this place has many commercial versions of this product, probably more money, but more variety.

So I'm thinking, for a 400 maybe an octogon or three on each side in a square (12)... maybe not planted every tier, maybe every other tier...?!?

So my next thought it, is the plastic safe, is off-gassing a possible issue? I've also seen larger version of these things for storing stacking recycling etc. I think Rubbermaid makes one in grey, but its quite deep for my purposes.

Is this idea too crazy?

This is what you're looking at: https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=139361

HDPE or #2 plastics do not offgas and are perfectly safe. Its #3 or PVC plastics that are a problem. All the 5 gallon buckets I use are #2 HDPE.

I like the poorboy method, but specifically want something that will enable the plant to be angled toward the light. that's why I'm suggesting this type of plastic bin.
