Hi Everybody

Well Im new here at the foums....I am on overgrow and was on *****..Anyways.

I just ordered a fem pack of soma's NYCD...I was wondering whats the best pheno to look for? and how smelly do they get in veg?........I have a carbon scrubber in my flowering cab but I veg my plants in a closet so no carbon scrubbers can be installed.

Hey DatFire,

I bought 2 packs of the same. I did a little research on your same question and didn't find one specific pheno that was best. Some guys liked the indica and some went with the sativa. I saw a lot of guys make their decision based on smell and this could have come from either pheno.

I started with 20 and I've narrowed the mothers down to 4. I have 2 sativa and 2 indica looking plants and these 4 have grown much better than the rest so I will flower some cuttings from each of these 4. 2 of these have showed female sex in veg... they are about 6 weeks old.

I am flowering 8 others that I have not chosen to keep as mothers. The bad thing is that it looks like there may be 3 or more males in this bunch and they all came to me as femenized, still in the orig. packaging.

I will take a closer look in the next few days and post photos of what I see.

As for smell, the 4 I have in veg do have a slight smell to them, no too strong but it's there.

These are the 8 that I put into flower....

These 4 are the best of the 20. the tallest sativa looking plant on the left is by far the fastest, biggest plant at least 6" to 8" above any of the others... I hope she flowers well.

There are balls everywhere!!! I found 6 femenized plants to be 100% male. This sucks....

Are u sure?...I really hope not but if so I guess I just have to weed out the males....Does anybody have any comments on this?..I have a limted amount of space so I cant veg them all at once....

i cant comment on the males cause i dont know, i was gifted 5 of the non feminised seeds by a good friend and out of the 3 seeds i germinated i got 3 females.

now i can comment on the pheno tho, Soma said the feminised seeds he just released only grew one pheno, the grapefruit one. least im pretty sure thats what he said, i was very high.

top of the screen and the bottom left are NYCD, bottom right is Bogglegum

I grew only one NYCD mama and she reeked of grapefruit and was a "knock you in your chair" 4 hour high. Very strong and very long lasting. More indica than sour diesel. Best stuff I've ever smoked.

if you can find a cross between sour diesel or diesel and grapfruit when it comes to flavor and smell.. that's what id look for

Personally, I like the indi dom.... the buds look incredible.
I should be clear though... I've never grown NYCD. But I did take an amazing
looking indi dom MALE and cross it to my old SSSC clone... the results were spectacular.
So... I'd say I prefer the indi dom. On the other hand, I've heard great things about the sat dom's high.... I think you're just going to have to grow out a few of both and decide for yourself. Here's what the indi dom male contributed to my City Lights.
