What do you use for shelving for vert growing a second tier

I am looking for good cheap shelving so I can do a second row of plants about 3-4 ft above the first row on the floor. I dont want to build any, but would like something that is plastic and leight weight so I can move them around. Any ideas?

I was looking at WalMart and found something by gracious living that might work - plastic/resin shelf. I also saw similar stuff on sale at other major retailers around here. Go out and look now, as all the shelving is always on sale right after xmas for all your organizing of xmas gifts

unfortunately, I have yet to see a simple out the door solution for catching runoff.

The best thing I've seen is Green Basterds shelving units that he built with waterproof lacker applied so its a custom "trough".

If you can't find anything plastic, those cheap tin shelving units that are available at hardware stores are very light and can hold lots of weight.

ive used 10 2 gal pots along side a room once with just a plank of something on top of them.

my real advice would be to do everything 150%, no cheaping out. half ass makes what half ass does if you catch my drift.

simple 1x1 screwed to the wall can act as your support. cut anything to length and slide the front to back and anywhere in between, d

Use rain gutters they work wonders and if you don't want to spend that much money DIY and make rain gutters great for run off i am building that right now and there is a web site shows all about the builds and run off for a vert setup here it is.

well you can build it out of 2x4 like i did or 1x1s works great but that is if you have a few hours and some tools it was cheap.

Thank you, I responded in a thanks to you, but couldn't add this part:

Green bastards design is actually probably less labor intensive and costly. While both work, I believe each has its own application.
