Taskenti Question
I have read that it is OK to ask questions regarding Cannabiogen seeds here. If not, I apologize in advance...here goes:
I have seriously been considering growing out Taskenti. There's not a whole lot out there. I have searched here on and another forum where there's an Ace/Cannabiogen help forum. One of the grows (from like 2005) said that it matured in 12 weeks. The author also seemed a bit disappointed in the potency/taste. OTOH, I have read rave reviews...a few here...but as I said, the material is sparse. I was wondering whether the strain as currently exists takes that long? I will be growing indoors under a 400 watt light with some CFLs as icing. So, feel free to let me know what your experience has been with the plant. I have the seeds but I'm not sure I want to do a 12 week flowering period at the current time particularly if the smoke isn't of the highest top shelf. I was also wondering how the plant/potency compares to the Sandstorm/Purple Pakistani strains. Although perhaps its apples and oranges. Thanks for your input. |

Taskenti and uzbeki is plenty more powerful than pakistan chitral or sandstorm, yield is higher too. Maybe the taste is not so delicate like Pakistan Chitral. Some of the original uzbeki indicas could be quite long flowering, as you said 10-12 weeks, but taskenti hybrids has been bred for faster flowering traits. Maybe charlie will comment some more accurate info. Hope all is fine there. dubi |

Thanks, dubi...That's great to know. I'm sorely tempted to give 'em a whirl. And yes...everything is fine in my world...at least 3 outta four Bangi Haze seeds have germinated. I'm really psyched. Hopefully at least one will be a female!

mayan taskenti as far as I know it's a 9 week's heavy indica. Very strong in all aspects, heavy branch's, rock buds, lot's of resin and very nice adaptability.
I didn't grow Taskenti but last year I've been with X-18/Uzbeki, the Uzbeki of Taskenti, and holly shit, very heavy and strong plants. Salud!

Hey my friend...thanks for the beautiful photos. Yeah, ya know...for some reason the Taskenti has been calling me. Seductively. I have to plan my grows carefully as I am limited by a small space (62 X 92 cms - if I did the converstion correctly) and can only grow a few choice strains at a time. So I have to go with my gut. I like the NEW and DIFFERENT and I have much respect for you and dubi and the rest of the respective collectives so - yeah! I think I'm in. Sounds fascinating.
First, however, I have to deal with the tender little Bangi Haze babies...four outta four sprouted. Soon come! (BTW...is your sig from a Bunny Wailer song?) Pax! |

Ahhh, thanks, Ras Pablo. The Abyssinians...of course! I thought for a second it was Dreamland by Bunny Wailer...
Dreamland Lyrics There's a land that I have heard about So far across the sea (repeat) To have you all, my dreamland Would be like heaven to me (repeat) We'll get our breakfast from the tree We'll get our honey from the bees We'll take a ride on the waterfalls And all the glories, we'll have them all And we'll live together on that dreamland And have so much fun (repeat) Oh, what a time that will be Oh yes, we'll wait, wait, wait and see We'll count the stars up in the sky... ...And surely we'll never die |
