What's up with Suriname?? Why are they so wild, and uncivilized and basically a step away from Haiti..
Is it due to the Dutch influence (nearby spanish, French and Portuguese colonies) that it is such a hellhole.
Anyone hear that something like 30 foreigners were raped and hundreds more attacked and reports of some killed? Whats going on there? It's also the Mecca for indentured sex slave route to Europe...what happened?

Is it because of the last riots in Albina.I hope that you understand that the Marrons are not happy with the idea that their area where they live is polluted with mercury (30.000 liters per year) thanks to the Brazilians.They are in Suriname for gold digging, which has become difficult in their own country because of the strict regulations which you dont have in Suriname.The government of Suriname is lack on this.

I know a lot of people from Suriname and they certainly are not uncivilized or wild.The Dutch government did not a great job when it was a colony i agree with that, but you have to blame the government of Suriname, not the people.

Yes you are right, it seems the Maroons are upset with illegal immigration for gold extraction. Those areas are definitely a dangerous wild west. I guess initial reports of 30 women raped simply for being Brazilian, made me question what was going on, but you are correct. I guess Africa is a perfect example of a similar chaos. Zimbabwe, Cote D'Ivoire, Angola, doesn't matter who was there, all the postive influence gets destroyed in hours if people are uneducated and in misery.

Actually the Maroons are mad that their environment is being destroyed by a bunch of greedy morons.A big environmental disaster is happening right now if you imagine the impact on the health of the Maroons of 30.000 litres of mercury which disappears into the soil & water.
