Bangi Haze - Licorice / anise flavors

I think I read somewhere that Bangi haze can produce tastes of licorice / anise if you get certain phenos.. Can you guys testify to this?

If so, is there a possibility that there is a similarity between the gene pool that the Bangi comes from when compared to Durban Poision?

I'm thinking about trying to isolate this licorice flavor and then adding some potency to it.. I don't see why no one has done this yet, because Durban Poison tastes very good, but it is obviously lacking in potency.

Also, if it makes any difference, I am thinking about going with Nirvana's version of Durban Poison, as I had tried Sam's DP x Sk#1, and found it had a very tasty licorice pheno, and I think they are pretty close to the same genetics (correct me if I am wrong, please!)

Thanks guys!

Hola Tyrone420

Well genetics makeup of BangiHaze is different, Congo/Nepal.
Licorice and anise are part of the flavours here but not most strongest in the hybrid.
Nevertheless BH has plenty of potency indeed and resist well poor and hard growing conditions, a hardy line
Wish you can find what you look for

Welcome Tyrone420,

As charlie commented, you can find anised and liquor aromas easily selecting inside Bangi Haze genepool. Potency is real nice for an inbred F6 line (stronger than today's durban posion for sure) and effect is clear and motivatinal. It's a great choice to make your own hybrids, producing great fast flowering hybrids for outdoor growing, you can even easily increase potency due hybrid vigour. Hope it helps!

i found pheno in bangi haze pack which was very liquorice tasting on exhale...when you open a jar you smell something sweet like honey, herbal green honey...there were other more subtile smells like onion with garlic haha also bit fuel or industrial sweat and hazy inscense...also one pheno made my teeth paralyzed hihi with something citric in it...like citric vegetable hi

in my country durban is popular a lot, and theres general meaning that durban from duthc passion is stable gear, much more than nirvana... https://grower.cz/forum/showthread.ph...ight=%2Bdurban and i think that dubi grew durban from sensi...he can give you report!! haha
