skunk special flower time
A friend of mine has four very bushy 2.5ft high skunk specials at week 6 of flower. They are under 6 125w envirolites, however their flowers are still very small and i am concerned that the 7.5 - 8.5 week flower period you state will in fact be much longer....or should he expect to see a BIG difference in the next/last two weeks?

Hi DrG.
I have done two SS grows and found that they do take maybe a week to 10 days longer than they say. MrWags also has an SS grow and I think his took a similar amount of time, I think he harvested after 65 days. My first grow I did three small plants and 1 finished in 9 weeks the other 2 in 10 My second grow was a single much bigger plant and that finished in 9 1/2 weeks. That said the skunk special really piles on the weight during the last 2 weeks, tell your mate to up the amount of P and K he is using, as this strain is especially hungry for P K and Mg especially in the last few weeks. |

Thanks Mr M
I thought as much - just that when it gets this close (6th week) to the 8.5week flower period that female seeds state for finishing its hard to believe that they will change and put so much weight on in 2-3 weeks. Having said that - it was the same with the grapefuit and the neville. Grapefruit were left for 10weeks and Neville/Jack were left for 11.5 weeks and they both gave approx. 3oz per plant. As for the extra feed - he is using GreenHaze 2 part bloom, Ionic Boost and Alg a mic vitality booster so isnt able to give different amounts of each P, K and N. The plants look very healthy - he has only had 2 leaves yellow and drop off. The new growth has that almost fluorescent green look about it so i dont think theres much else he can do. What r u on with now? |

Im doing some widowrella and grapefruit at the moment.
Im about day 28, the widow is already getting quite fat and crystally, its about 3 1/2ft but has been topped and is bushy as hell. It has crystals all over the fan leaves and stems already. she is fit as. The grapefruit is bigger (under a 400W the widow is under a 250) about 4 1/2ft high and about 3 foot wide. It has turned into a scrog without the mesh, there are about 14 main buds all at the same hieght and loads of other little buds as well. Although a bit spindly I expect them to fill out soon. I had some problems with suckers though with this one. Topped it twice and it just went crazy producing braches everywhere, had to get a bit radical as I couldnt shift a mg def and i just removed basically the bottom half of the plant. anything below a certain point was lopped off as there were just too many bud sites trying to get to the light and stealing the nutes. Ass for your m8, tell him to get some P/K booster especially in hydro, its acceptable to pretty much fry the plants with p and K on weeks 6, 7 and 8. I go up to about 1400-1600ppm end of week 7 beginning of week 8, then when I think they are ready I flush for 4/5 days. I use house and garden shoot booster in my hydro and it works a treat. I think I got pretty close to 0.5g/watt last time anyway, I got about 200g from one plant anyway. |
