Cleaning resin
Any suggestions on what to use for cleaning resin off my scissors? Someone suggested wd40 but i would rather use something that doesnt leave toxic residue. Its difficult to manicure buds when your blades are sticky. Im using surgical stainless scissors. Denatured alcohol work?

acetone. turps, metho spray cooking oil, they will all work...if you want to harvest the resin, what about using several pairs of scissors and then give them a butane shower?

There really isnt enough to save but enough to make the manicuring difficult. I would prefer to totally clean them as i go along to speed up harvest. I will have penty of smoke. Here is a sample of a med sized bud i will be chopping. 8 grams, 8 inches. Fluffy and sweet sativa. I have a few days left. I picked this a little early. Mostly cloudy trichs. No amber yet.

Don Dump is right on the money... Take a dixie cup or just a disposable cup and fill it with 92% or higher isopropyl alcohol and allow the scissors to sit in the alcohol for about 5 minutes. You will see the resin on your scissors dissolve into the alcohol and this will make wiping them off a breeze!! I always cut with dry and sterile snips... Hope this helps some, as it has always worked beings like dissolves like and both the alcohol and the resin are polar species.
Cheers

Exactly what nyy27 said. That's good advice. The key is the high % alcohol.

I use a product called RezinOFF. I like it because there's no odor or color and is non toxic. It works wonders on trimming scissors and machines plus my hands! I also use it on my pipes and bongs. Cool stuff.
