In an amazing move, the US house of Representatives has removed a ban on medical marijuana in the District of Colombia. The ban was put in force by Congress after D.C. citizens voted for medical cannabis in 1998.

Congress voted on several controversial issues in this one bill. It allows the District to use city money to pay for abortions for low income women, to implement a medical marijuana law, and continue a needle exchange program.

So now the question we need to ask our Congressmen is: If it's good enough for D.C. why isn't it good enough for the nation?

Man, opinions must be changing for the better on Capitol Hill!

I'd like to know what the vote was... it could bode well for MMJ legalization nationwide!

This was part of a much bigger spending bill, so the votes weren't up or down just on the cannabis issue.

The Senate still needs to ratify the bill & Obama must sign it before it becomes law. It's expected to pass.

oh snap my bad, not the herb. Just D.C. in general. Im glad they are going to allow MMJ but I think DC is a sewer filled with residents that belong in a sewer. I have lived there twice both time Marion Barry was either the mayor or in the process of getting reelected. Both times when you would cross into Maryland or Virgina, the pot holes would stop and the crime rate would drop. They choose terrible leaders who ruin our federal city so much so that congress has to take it away from them.
