Benefits of hanging the bulb vertically?
Well I just dished out a good amount of money ordering the magnum(for a horizontal bulb) and then I was checking out the manufacturer and they also make a parabolic reflector where the bulb is vertical. And I was just curious with my magnum I plan on fitting 15 plants underneath it, would I be able to do more with the vertical bulb under a parabolic hood, or what are the benefits of growing with this kind of reflector?
Sorry if I am asking novice questions, but I am new to the indoor game in general.... ![]() ~WDCF |

The benefit of a vertical bulb is 360 degrees of light. The parabolic hoods aren't as efficient at producing intense light directly below the bulb as a horizontal reflector. If u want to try that style hood with the bulb horizontal then u could try Sun Light Supply's Vertizontal.
As to how many u could fit under it...that would depend on how much space u have. |

Vertizontal
I'm running 1 vertizontal & a bunch of oldskool cone verts, all 1k Using it for the 1st 15days flip/12-12, then they finish oldskool. It gives noticeably more vertical branching than the oldskool verts, but the oldskool 360 footprint overlaps better when lighting large areas w/multiple lights IME. The combo is perfect for my op, but I'd probably have to go with the vertizontal if running only 1 ![]() An Adjust a Wing might be a good option for a big footprint single too? As the name implies, you can adjust the footprint to fit your needs exactly, beyond simply raising & lowering. $pendy tho. My 2 pesos, good luck with it
