I have noticed a really cool way to tell if a plant is ready to harvest or not without using a magnifier. I think this is great but maybe someone else uses this too.

If you take a flashlight to a bud and it sparkles, the trichs are still clear. If it is a dull sheen back at you, trichs are milky to amber and ready to go. I checked this theory on a few plants and it held true.

Don't forget that you can also get the dull sheen right away if you grow in a dusty environment without filtration or outside in a dusty environment.
