Czech Republic Decriminalizes Possession and Cultivation of Cannabis
The Czech government has ordered the decriminalization of marijuana to allow for the possession and cultivation of small amounts of the plant starting on January 1, 2010. They have finally settled upon the amounts of marijuana that would be decriminalized.

Ordinary Czechs can grow up to five marijuana plants or have several marijuana cigarettes in their pockets without fear of criminal prosecution.

The plant still remains illegal, however, though from the new year possession of five or less plants is merely a misdemeanour, and fines for possession will be on par with penalties for parking violations.
The Czechs were recently announced to be the biggest consumers of marijuana in Europe (22% of the population consumes cannabis). Coincidentally they're also the biggest beer drinkers in Europe. Must be that "Bohemian" culture... Now Prague will really rock with less of a worry about getting popped for a joint.

Някой вярва ли на българските статистики? В доклада се споменаваше, че най-голямото количество Х (53кг) било хванато в България. Тука всичко, което е на хап го минават за Х. А колко се гледа и пуши го е измерил някой в някоя канцелария.
Така или иначе, на балканите се гледа Само гърците го дават доста мързеливо, въпреки прекрасния за гледане климат.

the truth is that they can now take from you 60Euro (120Leva) if you smoke MJ on public somewhere (pubs, streets)...well its small extrem that they can do...but there is tradition in smoking and lot of people realy do (teenagers too much sometimes-its minus) .. and if you have exactly i think 1g pure thc or so on (on flower or dry material)- they can lodge a complaint to you. and if i have 1 flower with 100g dry? hehe - i can be in prison teoreticaly. if you have more than 15g you can go to jail for 1y maximally :O

on the media there is sometimes very good medical data and this is big plus cause many paople have little shock of their demonic prejustices...

I can see it's not complete freedom, but, hey, it's waaay better than in Bulgaria.Actually way better than most places in Europe.Hope in a few years you will enjoy full decriminalisation and even legalisation.Until then, you should be really satisfied with your laws because here people are thrown in jail just for possession and if they catch you growing a few plants then you are in deep shit.
I'm crossing fingers California to legalise cannabis in autumn.This would have a huge impact on the western world, imo.
And I'm sure it's not just the street dealers that are happy but also consumers and personal growers.Damn, I wish I was able to grow 5 plants on the balcony!
