They want the diagnosis that caused the recommendation? Fuck that. This is exactly why people are against Government Health care; They need to leave people alone and respect their personal liberty.

Janice Hahn is the best politician in LA. I don't agree with her on allot of things but shes right about this.

Right.

I think the entire city Gov't is a mess. LA is a third world city on many levels and I think its getting worse. Check out the LAUSD board meetings, they are scary.

Well So they want to go against State law with their "dispensaries must grow their own" Isn't that how it reads?

The city council said on Tuesday 137 dispensaries would remain open for now, but it intends to reduce the number to no more than 70 over time.

The council will also enact a series of new restrictions in the sale of marijuana, it said.

The ordinance will close down hundreds of dispensaries, which since 1996 have grown to between 800 and 1,000 in the city, thanks to legal loopholes in the sale and distribution of marijuana.

California law stipulates physicians must have no relation with dispensaries and can only prescribe marijuana as a therapy, allowing patients to apply for a license to purchase and sell the drug.

The ordinance comes one year after California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger called for a tax on marijuana to help recession-hit state finances.

That article is wrong. The actual final ordinance has not been voted on yet. Sections and wording for the final draft were being tailored and decided on only.
