Has anyone here had any luck controlling their epilepsy with medical marijuana?

I'm trying to control mine with medical marijuana and eventually come off my medicine. I already decreased my dose from 4000mg a day of Depakote to 750mg along with 100mg of topamax. I'd like to talk to people that are controlling theirs in conjunction with their meds and trade information as well.

I have 16 strains, mostly indica as they tend to have more CBD. If theres any medical patients that want to try them and let me try theirs I would be fine with that too.

My bro still takes medication for his epilepsy as we ain't found a strain that helps much as yet. His last episodes have all come whenever he was both tired and stressed, usually through overwork and under eating/sleeping. We have found that good indicas, especially concentrates before bed help massively during these times. He eats and sleeps more and therefore is not as prone to episodes.

I have tried tinctures and waiting on my cannabrex kit but I just can't grow enough to be able to support me, my girl and my bro. Do you smoke/vape or use edibles and what strains help you and how?

Hey I'm not off to a bad start yet, I may have sounded like I was talking about clones but I was just talking about some fellow medical patients trying different medication to find a strain they like to grow. The 16 strains I have are grade A meds from dispensaries, meds, not clones.

Just looking for Colorado mmj patients that have epilepsy and want to test out some new strains and let a fellow mmj patient try out theirs.. The goal is to come across a strain that will control my seizures and still let me carry on a normal life. The meds prescribed for seizures are absolute shit, they only work for a small percentage and the side effects are terrible.

Black Domina was reccommended to me by two epilepsy patients so I've been giving that a try. I really want to talk to people with epilepsy and see how we might be able to help each other. I'm very serious about organizing a group to go after the right meds because of right now there isn't a dispensary out there that I've been too, and I've been to a lot, that has any good information on mmj and epilepsy, and testing strains is unheard of.

Do you find smoking is adequate or doses through food has better results?

I haven't tried enough edibles to answer that. I'll post the links I have soon, and thanks, I'm confident I'll find the right people to brainstorm with and get better control over my seizures along with helping others do the same.

I'd like to find a way to get some California strains over here, ones that have actually been tested! I now have the funds to pursue this 24/7 and its only a matter of time before I make a trip out there and locate the right strain. Thats only going to happen if what I'm looking for isn't already here

Well I'm one step closer, I can get my strains tested right here in Denver. I'm willing to split costs if others have a strain they want tested and we're on the same page.

I don' believe you are looking at things the correct way Bubblegumstarts.

You will never just find one strain of marijuana to control your epilepsy.

However, you can use marijuana to lower the dosage of your control medication.

At the same time, you need to live a balanced life. Regular quality inputs of good food and water, exercise and proper rest.

Using marijuana in combination with all the above should allow you to lower your dosages. This should not be done overnight. meaning if you are on 4 pills a day, you cant just stop--you need to taper slowly.

My epileptic patient uses edibles and it decreases her activity better then any drug shes has tryed in over 20 years. Try making cannabutter and use that instead of smoking it. Anything I have read states edibles for epilepsy.

Never? Are you positive about that? Ok, I'll take you're word on it. I know all about living a balanced life. Normally you have to be seizure free for two to two and a half years before weaning off the meds completely, and last time I came off my meds it took me six months with the help of a neurologist so I know you can't just stop taking the pills cold turkey. lol

I have the funds to go after a high cbd strain, and I've grown professionally so this is all within my means. My goal is to come completely off my meds, others have succeeded and its only a matter of time before I do. Thanks for the input though.
