Powdery Mildew
Anyone have any good methods for controling powder mildew?
I have NL5XBB that are mainly outside for now. There are white powdery spots appearing with regular consistancy on the leaves. As soon as I see it, I pull the leaf. It does not seem to be doing major damage at the moment, and otherwise the plants look very healthy. I've been covering them early, so they are about 2 weeks or so into flowering. I'm sure it is from the high humidity outdoors here, and as soon as the renovations on my new room are done, I will most likely let them finish indoors where I can keep the humidity about 40-50%...Unless I can get the mildew in check. I would prefer to use the sun if I can! I'm strictly organic, and would rather loose the plant then spray a harsh fungacide on it. I do have a Safer brand fungacide...my next step is to apply carefully to the spots with a Q-tip. I've heard baking soda, high Ph water, neem oil, etc...but I prefer not to spray the entire plant if necessary. I don't like soaking the buds with anything if I can help it. Any ideas? |

sulfur burner will exterminate all your pm probs and any other rust, mite or mildew prob or you could use neem but you can't do it later in flower.

How often do you use the neem-oil? The mildew on my plants are spreading like crazy.

Its long but useful. BTW- the sulphur burner will knock it out. Be forewarned not to burn in your living environment, or a grow with carpet. The sulphur is very hazzardous if inhaled, and your carpet will smell like rotten eggs for a looooong time. ES |

speaking of mildew,
, who ISNT having problems with that crap this year? yarrrrrrr! A friend of mine (sinfuldreams) used sulphur last year on one of his crops... did away with the mildew real well, i think he just used a dissassembled lightbulb to vape the sulphur onto his plants, hopefully he'll pop on and explain further...... but DO NOT use sulphur on budding plants , unless you like the taste of match heads! the sulphur actually leaves a high PH coating on the plant , and sometimes it chunks up a bit like rez in a pipe. so once in a while when puffin on a bud that's been sulphur treated , you'll notice a small fizzle and taste matches.....so in short, don't use it too far into flower, and be safe cause the stuff aint good for you to be breathin in. I hope to be borrowing his setup soonly myself, i've got some mildew that's been causing me some grief these past couple months THC |

also, straight up tap water's usually high enough PH to do a number on existing mildew and the mildew can not germinate on a wet surface .... tho keeping your plants wet can cause serious mold problems if late into bloom.
If you're flowering i'd reccomend just using tap water misting and try to pick off the worst infected leaves.... doing this should at least keep the mildew at bay somewhat... and hopefully keep it on the leaves and off the flowers. THC |

Use Serenade sparingly. It will stop the mildew from spreading and growing.
