Red face I think I'm in love with Blue Streak - Pictures from seed grow

Just finished my first Blue Streak grow, and it has been a wonderful journey.
I'm really sad to hear that you'll abandon Blue Streak, Mdanzig, but I can understand your situation as well... Luckily I got my beans before the current situation arose, and I'll definitely be keeping this strain!
I'll keep my eyes out for your coming strains, and also looking forward to see what you'll do to Master Low. This summer I grew my third generation of Master Lows, and it will always have a special place in my heart.

Many people have wondered about the potential, size and other things about Blue Streak, so I thought I would post some pictures from my grow.
Out of 9 germinated seeds 8 turned male, but one female was enough to get a good look at the potential of this fantastic strain.
And one of the males had an amazing surprise in store for me, it was a trifoil! When I saw the trifoil seedling I knew it would be a seedrun, I just fell in love from the start~

Setup was 125W CFL (blue spectrum), with only very little nutrients (organic) in great soil.
Light cycle was 24/0, for future grows I might step down to 18/6 or so.
It was my first time LST'ing plants, and I LOVE the result!

And now the moment you've been waiting for (?)~ Pictures!

Can't wait to start the next generation, and thanks to GMT here on icmag I've become obsessed with trying to lock in the trifoil trait...
Hope you enjoy the pictures as much as I enjoyed growing the plants~

Great job Mulle! IN fact awesome! Looks better than mine! I was wondering how long they would go and I noticed your bloom'd 13 weeks. Nice colors and very good looking male selction. Did the males pollen sacks change color also? My next batch will be pretty much all Blue Streak seeds but I will switch from soil which I used to produce seeds because of the whole bioponic thing and taste as well as the extra nutrition. Plan to use sunshine #4 and seabird guano + KLN. My fan leaves have not given up their dark green color yet despite copiuos flushing. How long did you flush?

Oh yeah, "trifoil" does that mean that 3 embryos sprouted from the one male seed?

Mulle, you did save some of the male's pollen so u can hit the 2nd generation with them. Right ?

Great job btw, LST always wins. Your female would have probably been smaller if it wasnt lst'd.

Hi Archstanton, thanks for popping in!
Trifoil means that it has three leaves instead of two at each node, it's an expression I stole from another member here.
If you look closely at the picture with the seedlings you'll notice that one plant, the biggest one in the center, actually has three leaves at both nodes rather than just two. And that's the male I saved.

The male didn't show any colours at all, but he had a really short lifespan and I'm sure that's why. I think he was done at around week 8 or so; already dying naturally by then.

The colours don't show up too well in the picture, but the female got a purple tint quite early at the tops. I can't remember exactly for how long, but I only gave her water during the last weeks after she stopped growing, so you could say I flushed for pretty long.
I think the leaves changed colour due being at the end of the plant lifecycle rather than me flushing.

Regarding the 13 weeks flower, I'm sure I could have chopped her earlier but rushing it with seeds is a risky business. Since I wasn't in need of smokable material (a common excuse for chopping seeded plants too early, sadly!) I just let her take her time until I was confident over 90% of seeds had matured.

I wish you the best of luck with your second generation! I'm probably starting mine this winter, if the temperature allows.

EDIT: Hi Cyber Echo, yes I saved three seperate bags of pollen in the freezer for future backcrossing. Thanks for the compliments regarding the LST; it seems it works really well with AF's, I hadn't seen it done before I tried it myself

I am at 10 weeks so far with my female and the bottom's all had seeds popping out which detached from the stem fairly easy. Not recommended but I tested it out and got around 50 or so nice looking seeds. The rest will ripen until the seeds are as mature as possible. For now I have 4 original MDanzig's left to sprout and some pollen stored. These are next along with some older seeds I made years ago. I learned a while back: you don't pick the the best strain/cross...the best one picks you!

Nice growin, Mulle, and great seed harvest. I too am in the middle of an affair with this lady, and I am indeed smitten. She is a beautiful little babe, and good medicine too. Good luck in your future endeavours, and maybe if all continue to flood MD's site here with glowing praise for this strain, he just might not scrap it. I think I need to get in here and post up a link to my grow of BS, to add to the chorous.

What kind of soil mix were you using?

Archstanton , yeah it sounds like a good plan to let the other ones mature as long as possible. Seems like this lady picked us both, eh!

Hi ChynaRyder , thank you! Glad to see others being as excited about her as me I totally agree, you must post a link to your grow log as well!
Regarding the medicine she gives, I was surprised to find her medicating me beyond what I had planned during my initial tryouts. The usual dosage didn't apply here... Beware!

Hello there Molson, I used a soil mix with natural fertilizer which was labeled "suitable for organic growing". I don't have the nutrient values available right now, but that's my preferred way of growing I didn't add any perlite or similar either, just pure soil during this grow.
What I normally do is add a layer of leca or other similar at the bottom of the pots, but nothing advanced.
I'm one of those people who don't do "more than necessary", I guess I'm rather lazy

Speaking of lazy, can you believe that I had to leave her alone for just over two weeks with no-one to look after her mid-flower? She did just fine though, thanks to the large bucket she was grown in.
