De Kuil is also having some nice NYCD.Although everyone is raving about Hunters NYCD..
With one from Dampkring i was not impressed too much.It's nice nothing special.Best i ever had was quite some time ago at Homegrown..they don't sell it any more.
Hunters have few strains which are supposedly Soma's...(Amnesia,NYCD,Lavande r,SoGouda and recently they got Kushadelic)

do you say this as the card / envelope says fem , or is it the talk that soma said if he had any more issues he was gonna mark them as regular seed ??

and I recently planted one seed, but it was male. it was from a 5 pack..

I've been a NYCD fan since I met this herb in Amsterdam a few years ago. After the very first toke i was in love....
I bought a 10 pack of seeds in Dampkrig growshop and I was having a super joint of it when I met Soma for the first time. I got his book signed and my seeds were blessed from him. Keep it green he said.
I did my best but on 10 seeds only 3 females. Very special, sativa hawaian pheno. Not so grapefruit nor lemony that I found in A'dam, but a BEAUTIFUL plant to grow. Different attempts Indoor and Out, soil and hydro, but that Amstardam taste didn't come out.
I found a flowery sativa pheno. 12-14 weeks, slim leaves, fast growing, fast vegging, long flowering. Huge yielder. Truly superior is the smell: roses, lilium, musky, fresh, some small traces of orange peel... but not that one of Amsterdam...
Taste is a good extremely flowery, smooth, herbal and sweet smoke that caress your mouth. Nothing orange in it but it lingers in your toungue for a few minutes after exhaling.
High is as good as it tastes. Fast hitting, very uplifting and happy. Some friends might be totally blown with 1 toke! Unfortunately tolerance is built up quite fast and I tolerate well.
I talked of it with Soma and I tried another 10 seeds of NY and 10 seeds of NYXg13H.
Very low female/male ratio, only 3 NYCD, but 6 NYg13 females.
1 NY slim, slender, slim leaves, fast flowering, huge buds of few fat big calyxes, fuel, diesel smell, kinda orange after curing.
2 NY tall, medium flowering, slim leaves, very purple, typical Ny flower and calyx, strong smell of spicy strawberry chemical smell of those colored pencils for whiteboards. High is medium and good for socializing, not the strongest.
3 NY big leaves, long vegging, still to well evalutate.
Among the NYG13, which should be the grapefuit pheno crossed with g13haze male, I fuon 1 grapefruit smelling pheno, 1 less grapefruit, and 4 g13hase with an hint of orange.
Very good plants, very special sativa phenos. Medium long to flower 12-15 weeks, huge yielder, long sativa leaves. BUT...
That wonderful taste of Amsterdam is not yet in there....
Wonderful sativa, hazy, rich, agrumated and smooth taste, very very uplifting and stimulating high, sometimes going beyond with paranoia or too fast thoughts when overingulged....
Special plants, all keepers, but I want to have tha Amsterdam taste!
I'm crossing the Ny most grapefruit smelling pheno with the most grapefruit smelling pheno male of NYG13 pack (smell is all there, but lacks in taste...) and to 4 different NY males to look for it into different f2s. Long work...
Soma told me it is a common pheno to find, but, damn, maybe I need some more luck and endurance....
As far as I red I need to look for an indica leaf.
Does the grapefruit smell become apparent during veg in the grapefruit pheno?
