San Diego - Showdown over medical marijuana heads to court

Quote:
The manager of a medical marijuana dispensary heads to court.
Jovan Jackson is accused of illegally selling pot to an undercover cop out of a shop in Kearny Mesa.
The 31-year-old says he abided by the state attorney general's guidelines for dispensaries issued last year.
This will be interesting as a precedent, hopefully he will win and the case will further show how ridiculous and straw grasping desperate they are to put a bad name on MMJ.

Some undercover cop is trying to say he got a reccomendation for MJ and went to buy at a clinic, wow, he went through the system and what? He lied to the Doctor? Can't anyone do that with any pharmaceutical too? Sounds ludicrous.

Yes, the attempts to shutdown dispensaries using this ruse and others are failing one after another. The people just won't stand for being denied their medicine on trumped up charges by over eager DAs.

It's time for the last roadblock to legalization to fall...

Law Enforcement must come into line with the LAW, NOW!

No more coming up your own interpretations of the law that continue to criminalize marijuana patients and dispensaries.

Don't want DAs making up their own marijuana laws? Then LEGALIZE IT!

"Law Enforcement must come into line with the LAW, NOW!"

What a concept! Do you believe it could possibly happen? (sarcasm intended)

How many times does San Diego have to lose in court and how much in tax payers dollars do they have to spend before they realize they are beating a dead horse. There are much more productive things they could be doing with thier time and money, like looking for a job when they get booted out next election.Isn't there an old saying if your not obeying the law then your breaking it! Last I checked sb420 is the law, maybe they should prosecute themselves!!!!!!!!!!!

This is why i think its dumb to only legalize for medicinal purposes (even though its a start.). People will just lie to doctors or work around the system some how. It should just be legal for all, but if they want to stamp an 18 or older rule on it then so be it. Treat it like alcohol if you must, but weed is still safer. Either way its not stopping me from smokin.

sb420 is not the law it is in court now. Both sides want the law struck down but are trying to find a way to keep the id sys somehow. JK

This guy (and the many after him) will be found guilty.

How do I know, because nothing has changed since the last time SD convicted a dispensary owner.

None of the SD SCOTUS cases ever dealt with dispensaries, so there is no precedent they have to follow to allow dispensaries.

Other cities may tolerate dispensaries and SD chooses not to tolerate them.

There is nothing in the law that says they HAVE to tolerate them.

Not sure what people don't understand about this.

I agree they dont have to tolerate them, but they are provisions in the law for them, so what are the charges, operating without a city business permit. Or were they doing something otherwise that is illegal.

Bonnie thinks they are profiteering.

If the dispensaries are going to claim provisions of the law allow them to operate they also must accept that certain provisions restrict them from certain actions like profiteering. Can't have it both ways.

EDIT: Don't know why this is displaying as the first post. It should be as a response.

I dont understand why the people in congress and other political offices think they can overstep democracy.

The voters approved this system and they have no right to interfere by ordering around their goonies.

They are like grown up schoolyard bullies fucking around with whatever system they can so they can extort some lunch money out of it.

Time to cut the bullshit and get a real job assholes.
