Montel Williams, Angel Raich, and Tom Robbins featured in spots that began airing nationally beginning in late June

The Marijuana Policy Project's new radio public service announcements (PSAs) feature TV host Montel Williams, best-selling author Tom Robbins, and medical marijuana patient Angel Raich talking about the need for safe and legal medical marijuana.

In the first national PSA campaign of its kind featuring actual medical marijuana patients, the spots are were distributed to 1,000 radio stations nationwide and began airing in late June and early July of this year ('05).

If you have trouble listening to the streaming audio for the PSAs, you can download the individual messages to your computer by control-clicking (on PCs, click with the right mouse button) on the link and selecting "Download." Once the PSA has downloaded, you can listen to it with your favorite MP3 player program.

The Radio has a loud voice and I think those who speak out on this subject are going to help more people understand the Plight of Marijuana as a medicine. I have no TV so the Radio and Internet are my sources of Current Events. Thanks for making us aware of this IM. Once again you have provided a great thread and a link.

Unfortunately most radio stations air only something that is financially beneficial to them and so far they have pitched the ads into the HOLD bin and elected not to air controversal content - as long as they remain faceless and comfortable they won't rock the boat. After all, the Feds are allowing them licenses.
