I'm confused about something...

The 318W is supposed to get results equivalent to a 1000W hid?

My 1000W HID has a footprint of 5'x5' MIMIMUM. I get 2 pounds from them.

The 318W Penetrator has a footprint of 2'x4'? And I am to expect 2 pounds from them? With a 2'x4' footprint? I can get THAT MUCH herb from that small of a space?

If so, I'm sold.

Damn, they DO look good.

However, just so we can stay on topic, I'd like to know in what way a 318w penetrator will replace my 1000w HPS.

TIA LEDGirl!

If so, I'm sold.
A customer and personal friend, yielded just over a pound with 252W of our LED's over a 2' x 2' section of her aero tray. So can you yield higher than a pound with our 318W? Absolutely. But as you know, lighting is not the only factor affecting bud growth though. Room temp, humidity, nutrients, grow medium, co2, and strain also make a big difference on yield. So each gardener will have their own results according to their individual setups, but over a pound is certainly achievable.

Asking our 318W unit to produce 2lbs however, might be a bit on the high end. If you're currently yielding 2lbs consistently, you're talking about .9grams per watt, which is exceptional for most HID growers. Your average grower will do from 1-1.5lbs with that same thousand, averaging .5-.7gpw. 2lbs with our 318W would be almost 3grams per watt! I'm not saying it isn't possibly with the proper Scrog setup etc..., but I simply haven't seen it yet.

My friend is in no way a professional grower, but she is pretty darn good at it. Assuming that you're likely a bit better than her, I would expect you to be able to do 1.5lbs and possibly a little more with a single 318W unit over a 4' x 2' area. In my personal garden I'm running 754W over that same sized area, and am expecting a total yield between 3-4 pounds (6-8 ounces per plant).

Sorry, but no. Sulfur Plasma lights have been around for 15+ years, and yet they are NOT currently the replacement for HID. Why? If they are so bright, and so amazing, why is it that for the last 15 years, people have only been talking about what would be possible with them, instead of making something possible? It's simple: they are CRAZY expensive.

They produce a very nice spectral output, but keep in mind that just as HID, the MAJORITY of this light is not usable for photosynthesis, and is therefore worthless to your plants. The reason Sulfur will never lead anything in reference to horticulture, is that it doesn't use pinpointed wavelengths of light... And unlike chip-based LED's, sulfur plasma bulbs aren't going to double their brightness every 3 or more years...

I own Hydro-Grow-LED.com, and use the lights that our company manufacturers. The lights are featured in the sticky at the top of this forum..

I have no plans on slowing down when it comes to developing the newest and best products with LED's. I'll continue to stay ahead of my competition in terms of who has the best and brightest lights.

Cool.

Thanks for the reply LEDGirl.

My interest is certainly piqued. I'll stay tuned and see what some of the other testers think of your product.

Thanks again.
