i think this is in the right place i hope so at least. anyone on here do any prospecting for gold/silver/platinum on here? ive been looking for a buddy to go prospecting with i have most of the equipment. mirco sluice, large 50 some odd inch sluice, pans, classifiers, and alot of other nice tools for prospecting. ive been trying to find a new place to go since i got a police escort out of azusa canyons, san gerbriel river, lately ive been forced to go nearly an hour and a half to go prospecting. im hoping maybe someone on here also prospects in so cal and knows of closer area's or if they just want someone to hang out with smoke and do some prospecting or fishing or maybe even some hunting.

I am nowhere near Socal, but this has always been interesting to me. I remember that show, prospecting USA, or something like that. My wife would give me shit every time I was watching it.

I always wondered if you could make any money at it. There were a few episodes where some folks traveled to far northern areas of Alaska for a few weeks and pulled like a thimble full of gold dust. A bust I would say.

Right now with gold prices what they are I think this would be the time to get into it.

permits..yup..or join a club..

its said that only 20 percent of the gold has been found in california.

i like using a metal detector at the beaches..after the weekend crowd leaves..laguna..huntington..ne wport pier.

gold prospecting when all the paperwork is in order is hard work..

but with gold at 1100 an oz..

i tried panning for gold in northern cali. way tooo much work for a few flakes. its no wonder lots of people failed to get rich. need a sluice for next try

nowhere near you, but very interested in it. watch the same shows already mentioned here. allegedly, LOTS of gold in mountains of northern Georgia. looks like it would be in ALL of the Appalachians... armedoldhippy
