just thought id give a quick "status report" on the Purple Crown

dropped the whole pack mid-december. 7/10 germinated. the 3 that did not successfully germinate popped the seed hull, but had rotted inside the husk.

anyhow, fast forward....some slow to sex / slow photoresponse, but very branchy.

two basic phenotypes that I found....short(er, still much more vertical growth than my sensi star, for example) with purpling of the stem and branches (one has a distinct grape smell). the other is tall (by any standard) with spaced out nodes, lime green stems.

both have very wide leafsets, the short/purple has darker leaves with broader blades. the tall/green is slightly less of a dark green leaf, with thinner blades as well, but still some "broadleaf" appearance.

very slow to show sex, even when exposed to 12/12. so far, 3 males, 2 females, and 2 unconfirmed (but they look like ill have at least one more girl, maybe both). Of the males, two were tall/green and 1 was short/purple. Actually, the one that had the distinct grape odor (and the most purpling) ended up being the male.

so, I culled the 2 tall/green males, and have kept the short/purple/grape male to make some f2s with the females that I get. the short/purple/grape male and the confirmed females were trimmed and placed back in veg.

ill get some pics up once I get some clones rooted and flowering, but that will be another month or two away, theyve gotta wait in line lmao.

that's great i got mine also and they are 4 weeks in flower, looks more the sativa pheno, floral smell with a touch of purp smell,yummie.......will send pics soon:whi stling:

4 weeks - flower in this picture, Purple Crowne pics looks like this strain is going to be a 10 to 12 week flower cycle, looks great , need better camera lol :bi ggrin::dan ce013::rast a:
