Praying mantis
Took a few pictures of a couple praying mantis egg sacs or masses (named ootheca). I've bought a few sacs every year in the spring and stuck them in bushes. This is what starts to happen, I'm glad to have them around.

where would a mantis lay her sack? i caught a bitch on my front porch munchin on her partner a couple months ago. took all the stickys out of my room and let her go. she was a good pet untill i thought she split the coup not seeing her for a week or so. doing the laundry one day she surprised me clinging to the laundry basket, alive, but very weak. i let her live out her last days chillin on the laundry basket, but am unsure if she would of popped out a sac or not. it doesn't really matter, but i'd like to know come spring when i wake up with a mantis on my chest.
