Hi Icmag,
I need some advice about vertical lighting pertaining to the different wavelengths of light used for growing e.g metal halides hps ect. Ill start by giving some background information of how i grow. I grow from clone only and tend to populate the room with the same plant, i start by receiving pot bound clones that are around 10-15 inches tall in 6.5ltr pots vegged under florescent lighting.I then take these and place them into my flowering room in 5gall pots further vegging for a further 2-6weeks depending on the progress the plants make! then flower, as you probably noticed i grow tree like plants. im able to control the length of vegging e.g. long or short well, because I get my plants from another person who specializes in nothing but clones so half the vegging is already done for me and i use halides so stretch is controlled for horizontal growing anyway. Now that im going vertical on a similar setup like semiconductors grows e.g. plants in circles around caged bulbs im not sure what lighting to use when growing vertical as its a totally different way to growing horizontal. Should i use a halide still or dual spectrum bulb or just straight hps. No indica/afghan phenos will be used all plants will be 50/50 mixes to ensure i have the vital head stretch, im just not sure what type of lighting to use as traditionally i would use metal halide then hps during flower but will my plants be tall enough whats everyone one else using pure hps??? thanx. |
