Compassion Growing
I would like to know what it takes to grow marijuana legally for donation to compassionate organizations. What forms need to be filled out in order to allow me to grow marijuana for someone who is ill.

"grow marijuana legally for donation to compassionate organizations"
I did not know there was such a thing... your best bet however is this form here, you will also need the form A, or B2 from your medical user... https://www.hc-sc.gc.ca/dhp-mps/alt_f...form_d-eng.pdf Good luck |

There are no provisions under the laws of Canada and the Medical Marijuana Access Regulation that permit anyone to grow and donate cannabis to anybody other than the specific person for whom the exemption has been granted, and in respect of which you have been appointed as a grower.
You are, quite simply, inquiring about provisions that do not exist under the laws that apply to medical marijuana in Canada. To grow for a specific person, he or she needs to obtain an Authorization to Possess under the MMAR and appoint you as their designated grower. The link to the relevant overall application is here, and in respect of a designated grower, Form D, specifically. Note: You are not eligible to be appointed as a desginated grower if you have been convicted of a proscribed offence within the past ten years. The exemptee must otherwise qualify for and obtain an Authorization to Possess and specifically appoint you for that purpose. Under the current Regulation, you are not eligible to grow for more than two exemptees. (That "no more than two patients" aspect of the Regulation is extremely vulnerable to a challenge in the Federal Court of Canada - but that is an expensive and time-consuming process). The difficulty in a patient acquiring an Authorization to Possess is a very significant hurdle, given the practical problem of finding a physician willing to sign a Form B1 or B2 in the overwhelming majority of cases. |

Thanks, I do not know any current patients.
I guess i was wondering if there was like a "connection" agency, or government list of growers. Meeting the Bondable standards is no problem. Thanks for the replies. |

If you or anyone you know is having trouble convincing your Dr to sign, here is a release form that will reduce their liability and could help to persuade them to be a little more compassionate. With these forms filled out and submitted and the other criteria met as far as criminal record goes are there any other hurdles to acquiring an Authorization to Possess that you know of? Once the authorization to Possess is obtained can I appoint myself to be my designated grower by chance?

Im interested in doing the same thing.... my biggest issue is finding a patient to grow for....
I just want a legal way to continue my hobby which would benefit me in relaxation and to benefit the life of some one else without having to look behind my back every second... Now with the Harper government tightening down it seems its becoming more impossible... I have a diploma in horticulture and am currently in university for a B.Sc in Horticultural sciences minoring in plant biology.... primarily in hopes that it could benefit in being a care giver/doing research with cannabis... I guess my questions are.... as NotGuilty was asking..... Is there a place in Ontario where a potential grower can get in contact with patients? ... Is there a potential for an assistant to an already certified grower? ....and for you already licensed folks.... Is it worth it to try to get this with the current administration.. and have you heard any success/failure stories....as of late.... sorry if they seem like "noob" questions... but I am just trying to get a handle on the state of affairs with in... You cannot just grow like that. You have to be the designated grower for up to 2 people, and that is it. Most dispensaries would be supplied by illegal grows from people with big hearts, but even they normally pay for it For intl player Well once you have your forms filled out you are pretty much set to go. It does take a while to get the permit back though, so make sure your i's and t's are done. Now if you have a criminal record, as long as it is not drug related, meaning if you have busted for cultivation or trafficking on your record, you will probably get rejected. your next major roadblock, will be your local FD and PD, they will eventually want to come check it out, and will try and shut you down,. So it would be in your best interests to make sure it is up to code. If you rent your property, you will need your landlords consent as well Other than that, you will figure out the rest
