Sour Bubble Bx4 (A pheno)

Popped 5, got 3 females...Not too detailed, mostly pics

Here's how they looked on 9/20

Pheno A: Fastest grower...Seemed the branchier of the 3

Pheno B: 2nd fastest and tallest...No probs

Pheno C: Shortest of the 3...BIG PHAT leaves right from the start...My early fav

I vegged these under a 250 until they were approx 13-14" then flipped em (they shot up 9" during the last 8 days of veg!!!)...Keeping a close eye on the stretch as i plan a SOG cabinet for whatever momma I decide to keep

These pics are from day 14...All three showed sex within 8 days

Pheno A: Found what looks like a few possible nanners on her so she will be CLOSELY watched...Tallest pheno with the most branching of the 3...Stretched 10 1/2" so far

Pheno B: 2nd tallest, minor branching...Stretch limited to 8-9"...More SB leaning IMO and a mix of A & C

Pheno C: My personal fav...Shortest at only 7-8" stretch...Most SB looking of the 3 IMO...PHAT ass shiny dark green leaves...Some had 13 blades...And to top it off, it looks badass as well

Heres a pic of the whole closet...Thats 2 mini SCROGs of well flushed C99 on the sides...One thing nice about the cold shitty Midwest weather, it makes for some nice temps during F-W-Sp...Closet temps in the pic are after 4 hours of lights on, time is OFF

Be back in a week or 2 with some more pics

UPDATE...MORE NANNERS (or are they)

Well, hate to say it, but here we go again...A very close inspection of A has revealed a shit load of nanners or some very weird-ass looking spuds???

There are NO LIGHT LEAKS!!! I even TRIPLE checked my timer and reset it for 11hours/58 minutes of light, just to be EXTRA sure of the light cycles...The run of C99 right next to this was perfect (as she always is )

Pheno A will be culled, as will all the clones from her/him/it

hopefully phenos B and C are both keepers for you.
i really don't know what to say about these results
other than i inbred the BOG stock in hopes of finding something fun for myself and
letting others try sour bubble in the time of BOGs sabbatical.
i do know there are some great phenotypes in there to be found
though... a lot of strains in general may have intersex traits to be found
through genetic exploration. Tom Hill speaks of it with Deep Chunk,
and many of the well-documented diesel lines also seem to give some intersexed progeny.
it is just important as a grower to keep an eye out for them and cull them
as necessary, I assure you the father sbbx4 and the mother sbbx4s showed
no intersex traits. perhaps the subsequent backcrossing and incrossing
of the sour bubble has rattled pandora's box a bit?

here's hoping you find ya a keeper or two from B and C,cheers remus

Hate to beat a dead horse, but

I've ran Rez's DSD and 0 problems in this exact same setu-p...I know there was always complaints about the Sour Diesel throwing nanners, but I ran 4-5 different phenos of DSD with 0 problems...My keeper I eventually ended up giving to a friend (newbie) and he's never had problems...Of course I set his room up for him so I know personally his space is good

My C99 is an S1, she's never thrown anything in 2+ years...She's been abused and stressed many times and has ALWAYS been good to me...Not a SINGLE nanner or bean has ever been found to my knowledge

I've also ran FMS Xline C99 and White Widow (obviously selfed) in less than ideal conditions and never had problems with those either

Don't know what to say gp...Currently I'm at 40% hermie rate, after trying beans from both the SBbx4 and the OGBGxSBbx4...So its not just one pack or one cross

B&C both look fantastic...I cant complain about any issues except the obvious

Uncle your pics look very very similar to the ones i have going right now... beautiful lush dark green foliage... i also have one female out of 4 that is rather more stretchy and branchy than others but none have shown signs of nanners at about 20 days of flower... i have been looking rather closely too since i saw your posts because i have 13 other plants in the same room with these four... do you know about how long into flower nanners started to appear... also how much resin have yours been showing... my tallest example (which i dont like quite as much as some of the stockier plants in structure) has a pretty damn insane crystal cover for so early in and the sugar leaves are turning snow white... did your pheno A have good resin production before you culled it??

imo there are no cross's that are free from hermies completely. and anyone who thinks there is one, has probably only grown 1 pack of that "strain".

i have had lucky packs of stuff with 0 hermies, but then i see hermies in subsequent packs of everything at some point. i dont really blame the breeder anymore.

if you cant do clones you have to be prepared for hermies in the first weeks of flower by having spare plants.

Rib...On this run she threw them by the 18th day...My other I didn't pay much attention to the plants until it was WAY too late, which IMO was a total newbie mistake...I should know better and will NOT repeat...Trics were average...Ill post a few pics soon

As far as "any" strain being hermie prone, I'd have to disagree...Strains that are "worked out" are done so to stabilize and "dehermie"-ize the strain...IMO its all down to 2 factors, genetics and environment

Day 30 update

OK here's the 2 remaining at day 29 or 30...You may notice a little pH spotting on some of the lower fan leaves in some of the pics...I'm doing something a little out of the ordinary with these 2 phenos by doing a little stress test...I change nutes every week...My usual routine is to check the pH level on the 4th (mid) day of the week, and add back nutes if the pH is high...For this run I'm simply adding back H2O all week...So far I've seen 0 balls on these and they look to be stable

At day 30 pheno B is 31" or roughly +17" in flower...Pheno C stands at 29" or roughly +15...Basically they doubled so if i flip these at say 8-10" I should be able to keep them right around 20" or so, perfect for a SOG setup...Both are starting to exhibit a very sweet almost pink lemonade smell

Room temps with lights out:

hey dudes, iwas just gifted 10 beans rom bogs last release. 6 made it to bigger cubes. ive never seen this kind of c afghanica style leaves before. remind me of the "kush" blue moonshine or something else i cant remember. beautiful. it looks like i have 2 phenos at this stage. 1 has more indice, the other 5 afghanica. definitly 2 are slow c.a., then 3 faster and the ugly duckling pheno. so unique. im realy hoping for a strong stocky keeper. keep the pics comin hombre, im like 12 weeks behind ya, peace, d

Day 41 Update

Here they are at day 41 right before i start flushing them...Planning on taking them both down at 53-54 days regardless...I'm finishing these under a 250 in a temporary cabinet which is going to be rebuild as a clone/veg cab

Some pics from day 41...Pheno C seems to be the faster finisher, with a sweeter scent, abit heavier looking budsites, and slightly heavier trics coverage...Trics are approx 90-5-5 cld-amb-clr...Both are exhibiting some purpling with lights off temps around 65-67

The last pics are perfect examples of pH stress damage to the larger fan leaves...I purposely stressed these and so far both phenos responded perfectly...2 years ago, as a newbie, if I saw anything like that I would have been throwing all kinds of additives trying to fix a deficiency...Ahhhhh...Knowledg e is a wonderful thing!!!
