Dehydrator water
High all. I have just purchaesed a dehydrator for my basement. It fills up almost daily. The question I have is: Can i re-use this water to feed the plants? I think that the water is pure, with no impurities in it. I do not know if the water is pH neutral or not. I have no salt pens or anything like that.
Does anyone else here use dehydrated water at all? I wish to use it, and maybe mix it with the water I am now using, but I will not use to water with untill I know for sure. Any info would be appreciated. Thankx

Humidifier water is just distilled water. It will of course pick up odours from the air, dust and maybe some iron or copper from the coils. But no hard minerals or additives like tap water contains. PH will be neutral.
Good alternative to reverse osmosis.

As brownpants said above, it is very pure water, but no grower should be without a way of checking ph. A good PH tester is only about $70 and you can buy cheap test kits from any garden store or pool cleaning supply shop.

Recently went aero.
I collect rain water for soil, sometimes use the dehydrator water also for mixing up the nutes. Seems like a waste to just dump it. Wondering if good base for the aero unit? |

I know my tap water is relatively hard and has plenty of dissolved solids in it. I'm worried to use dehumidifier water because I have no TDS/EC meter to test it. However, I have checked the pH using liquid and it comes out basically neutral.
So if the pH of my dehumidified water is good, I can trust it to be safe for horticultural use otherwise? |
