ucf 104 was fixed

anybody watch the main event? Hilarious. Any reasonably competitent judge scores it 4 rounds to 1 in favor of Shogun. Some people are claiming 3 rounds to 2, but that's a massive stretch, and nobody thinks Rua won. Except 3 people. Fascinating. Pretty incompetent right? Doubtful. Heres the vegas line:

Lyoto Machida vs Mauricio Rua

The main event of the night is set to be an absolute Brazilian barn-burner. Lyoto Machida puts his undefeated record on the line against Rua. The bookmakers are tilting this one heavily towards Machida and he carries a 2/9 price to win. Mauricio Rua is listed at 3/1 to pull this one off.

Blue Square is offering up method of victory betting on this one and you can back Machida to win by KO or TKO at 5/6. A Machida victory by submission pays out at 9/2 while a decision victory can be backed at 5/1. Rua is a lengthy 9/2 to win by KO or TKO while the submission pays out at 10/1. A decision victory by Rua pays a whopping 16/1.

So was it organized crime specifically, or just a more wide-range filtration of prize money?

Fixed is a big accusation......but it certainly seems if you want to take it away from a champ you are going to have to submit or knock them out.

Well look most sports are probably fixed to some degree. These guys are good, we'll never know for sure. But in this instance I think it's not even conspiratorial. It's the most reasonable explanation. I've followed the career of one of the judges and he's a massively incompetent tard only scoring because of his race, but even still he's not that clueless.

The fight metric is up: https://fightmetric.com/fights/Machida-Shogun.html

lulz. The best was watching Dana do damage control. I love watching eccentric millionaires on their heals lying to a camera. The Game is a sport in and of itself, I guess.

Thats just the way it is in mma and has allways been. No judge can hand you a title, you have to take it from the champ..

Man people are really cut about this. If it was a non title fight i would have agreed with you all but i guess some people do not know as much about mma as they claim.

I'm coping it left right and centre from everyone.

Check this out...

Give me positive rep with the comment: "Your an idiot!!! Shogun should have won man!!! get your head out of your ass...."

Positive rep? lol .. really who is the idiot?

Agreed totally. This is the way it is in boxing too. You have to truly BEAT the champion, not just hang in there. Its a tough call either way. I woulda said draw.

I dont think they were wanting to end the "Machida era" So quickly To much money left to be made on that guy.. I found it funny on the aol poll (not like that means anything LMAO) but most felt rua won the machida fight, but would rather see machida fight anderson silva next, then to rematch rua....

Imo rua won the fight.. But like babbabud said, you have to beat a champ convincingly.. ie knock out or total domination, and I guess felt the champ hung in enough to retain the title.. I'm a bit turned off though, as no one yet has been as successful fighting machida as rua was. If only rua would of completed 1 of those few takedowns he tried for maybe he woulda pulled it out

I think Machida was close to winning the first 3 rounds. If you could have turned the volume of and just watched (without Joe Rogan saying Rua every 5 sec) you probley would have seen things differently. It's the power of suggestion. Yeah he had great leg and body kicks but thats it. Machida had great leg body and also atacked his head. Shogun failed every time he tried to take Machida down. The scores though could have gone either way as neither of the fighters did anything to make me think they should have clearly one.

I don't think it was fixed, just bad judging really. It was quite close but I thought shogun won. Great gameplan by him and his team.
