I have a 400hps and a 600hps, both in aircooled hoods hanging vertically in a 4.6x4.6x6.6 tent..
I got both lights from htg.. the 600 is a digital..

If I get a cool tube can I hang them vertically?

Sure, the only problem is depth of penetration. Been vertical a while & feel 1k's are the "best" for this application because you can go 18-24" away. W the 4's & 6's, ideal PAR ratings come at 12" or so. You can't get a very wide "circle" of canopy around those bulbs vs a 1k. You can do it for sure, as several vertically run 6's (stacked on top of each usually). Peace.

yeah you can definitely hang them vertically.

Ive got a 3.2x3.2x6.6 tent and a 4.6x4.6x6.6 tent..
With the 600hps and 400hps in the cooltubes, which tent has the potential to yield more?

I guess I could get another 600 watt to replace the 400.. was gonna run a vertical 400 on the bottom and the 600 above it and shelves on all sides of the tent.. a row of plants no veg, on the bottom, and 3 shelves going up the wall. what do yall think?

I run a 600 on top of a 400 with only the 600 in a cool tube (6" vortec moves plenty of air to cool both without tubing the 4. They hang in a 4x3 foot room.

I put four 2 gallon coco ladies in the corners and 3-4 1 gallon girls between them at the bottom surrounding the 400.

I flower when the 2 gals are 1+ foot bushes and the 1 gals are 10 inch bushes. By the time they stretch out both lights are surrounded with bud sites.

Last run I pulled 1 3/4 lbs out of there, not bad for 4 different strains in one setup.

I highly recommend putting a CMH in that 400 for some kick ass dual spectrum buds.

think im gonna run two 600s.. but im undecided as to whether im gonna do vertical.. i also have two 600mh conversion bulbs..
should i run 1 600 with the mh? if so, at what time in flowering do i do that?

thats very impressive. thank you for the details. what strains did u run?
at what heigh are the bulbs? do u use a screen or anything to keep the plants from touching?
