What are the regular 'street' strains?

Whats the craic lads, joined this forum here because as you all know, we are one of the worst gafs in the world for good ganja, and none of my mates are stoners much, so it's good to talk with some other Irish smokers.

What I am wondering, being on the bottom of the dope food chain, is what are the actual strains on most weed you see going around? I ask this because I am not one of the 'lucky ones', I buy weed from a nice fella and although he is reliable, he hasn't a clue, to put it politely.

The type of fella who, you would ask what kind of weed it is, and he would say 'weed weed, like!'.

Weed weed. *Sigh*. Apart from a nice few weeks of some sort of foreign, expensive cylindrical hashish, all most of us round here ever seem to get is rubbish compressed dope that only puts you to sleep. Cant lay the mits on pollen sure [it's called pollem, but whatever] and of course we all know our good friend Soapbar. Pedigree chum hash at it's finest .

And even now that's gone because there's a bit of a drought and nothing on my end has recovered yet!

So yeah, discuss at your leisure. Doing a few bong blasts of Sky High, 35 euro, completely legal, and a damn sight better than this rip off 3.5 for 50 culture we got going.

Oh yeah, might be worth adding that I am in Cork city, to put some perspective on it.

I grew up with soapbar, dutch gold, and self centered county pride .

Hi Stu Bai. I feel for you, bro. I grew up on soapbar too, in the west of Scotland. Man, that stuff stinks. I'm not sure what was worse, having a drought or having the stuff to smoke... I haven't had any for about fifteen years but I can still remember the taste - especially when a bit of shredded plastic fizzles in your joint. Yuk!

Glad you've got someone to see you okay for a better bit, even if you don't know what strain it is....

What's Sky High. Is that like Spice?

Yeah, it's a synthetic cannabinoid based blend, goes by the name of Pulse too depending on which shipment customs decides to let through [] ... but it's an incredibly powerful one unlike Spice, which I feel just mongs you out and makes you feel like a retard for a few hours once you build a tolerance.

Ha! Must try it then, coz I quite liked spice. I'll have a search about for it. Cheers.

And you are aware that it's merely a synthetic cannabinoid... Uhm... I'll take my high natural please

It is almost impossible to recognise the exact name of any street weed. We can, however, get an idea of it's genetics. Irish weed is typically indica dominant on account of it's ease of growing, so expect a lazy high. If your dealer is selling you shitty weed then find a new one.

It's not that easy, my friend. Cannabis snobbery gets a little old. Nobody smokes a blend because they choose it over traditional au natural .

Synthetic Cannabinoids > Gritweed.

Merely a synthetic Cannabinoid? Price, safety, quality of high, you name it. The blends trump the vast majority of Irish street level cannabis in almost every aspect.

You are comparing an immitation to the real thing. A bad immitation at that. These legal blends are bad for you! Marijuana is not! Sucks about your bad contact though. My advice, stay away from the synthetic "buzz" and look for a new contact.

An imitation blend would be a spliff that lights up and plays ''One Love'' for thirty seconds before you have to change the battery.

These are synthetic Cannabinoids. They work, for real, on your Cannabinoid receptors, for real. The same receptors THC works on. I would not be buying it if it did not work.

I am very conscious of my health. I smoke cigarettes. I am not going to worry about synthetic Cannabinoids just yet.

It's not as easy as just 'look for a new contact' kiddo. My mates are very much lager orientated, straight and narrow, mainstream folks. Not skunk heads, expert growers and alternative youth. Anything I can get is poor quality compressed Indica that is, more than likely, blasted with something.

Sucks, I know :(.

stoned16 will become famous soon enough
S'craic lads, I'm around the Dublin area and over the past few months have smoked countless different strains....nearly all commercial! In my opinion the weed scene in Ireland is only getting better!(but still pretty bad). It's who you know at the end of the day..They are from different dealers from different areas..I dont just rely on one (un)reliable contact.Just to list a few cheese, nycd, orange bud, bubblegum, homegrown lowryder 2,Jamaican skunk, white widow, ssh, northern lights, thai stick brickweed(not worth smoking) and african bush brickweed (some batches were all seeds, stems and leaves, others lovely green buds with a soaring sativa high..Honestly though the best i smoked was the cheese..It tasted devine and blew your socks off..just my 2cents
peace
