I know 600s are more efficient and have higher lumens so I have to ask.

If you were To Grow Trees would you go with Five 600 watt or Ten 400 watt bulbs?


8-10 trees would be placed around each 600 watt bulb or Double 400 watt bulbs rotated half way each day. But with the 400s there would be 2 bulbs 1 for lower branches and 1 for upper branches. Reason Being to select to Surround the Bulb is to Capture as much light as possible from Escaping what I like to call the Wall Of Green or W.O.G (do we have a knew Term?)


Only concerns with 400s is possibly indica dominants wont grow as tall and wont need 2 lights and im stuck with using 400s on those. And using 1k more Electricity.

Veg time will be for 3 or 4 months Low yielders will go longer. 15 gallon pots and if I notice any get root bound will up pot size. praying for 2 bows a plant

Looking into White Widow, C99, AK 99, NL 99, and possibly Chemdawg

I like the 1000 watters the best. Nothing can beat the bud density you get with these things.

I would love to go with 1k watt bulbs. but that will limit the strains I can do to 3-4

Hey VGB Nice work on your grow I wont rule out the 1k watt

just switched from 6 600w to 4000ws, 4000w blows it away, less heat bigger plants, bigger buds.

good input. from what I understand its harder to get a gram per watt with 1000 watt bulbs got any input?

i like 1000's myself but if i were you i'd go mostly 600's and maybe a couple of 1000's

i remember there was this guy with the username igrowtrees. anyways he had a thread and he grew small plants so the first comment on the thread was "your name should be i flower small clones not igrowtrees"

Ok, let me answer your question since i just noticed that our of all the responses, none of us even attempted to answer your question.

If I had to choose between a 600 and a 400, im gonna go with the 600. Ive never even owned a 600 before but as you can see from all the other answers to this question that there is a fierce debate on what is better 600 or 1000. Alot of peeps like the 600 and alot love the 1000. So for lack of knowledg aabout the 400 im gonna say go with the 600 because they def compete with the 1000s
