![]() ok guys, this is a new realm for me but one ive always wanted and said i would get into. i was doing just fine in the beginning, seeds sprouted leaves are nice and lush then after a while and now that they are at least two weeks from being root bound, i was wondering what do i do now? im growing GREEN PEPPERS, EARLY JALAPENO PEPPERS, RADISHES and NON HEADING COLLARDS. Ive got at least 10-12 of each one in the containers and they are getting pretty big. i cleaned out my larger flowering cab in order to move them in their own containers and finish them out. as i was sweeping up the last bit of dust it hit me that i really don't know the firs thing about growing veggies! (i honestly laughed for about a good 5 minutes at this lil factoid). for starters i guess my Q's are: - do any of the variety of veggies i am growing behave like cannabis plants? -do i grow them to a descent height and then switch 12/12? -would veggies benefit more from MH or HPS to during the. . . i guess "flowering" stage? -do any one of the varieties i have even grow in stages? - i have 1gl and 3gl grow bags, would one be better than the other to replant them in, does it even matter? -what nutes should i be using more/less of and at what times? (i have budswel and super tea, my medium is soil less organic) so far ive grown SSH twice with great success, had a bad one when i decided to take on a partner/mentee (t'was the worst because i had some clone only strains gifted to me *DABNEY BLUE*ORANGE BUD*THE WHITE *CHEESE the UK original) and things went bad while waiting for this friggin putz to. . . anyway) and realized that, that is something i"ll never do again. i just finished trimming/hanging the rest of the plants that survived this guys black thumb and things smell and look great (normally i take pics of my grows but between dealing with the stress, spidermites and gnats that i got from this asshole i was too worn and ashamed ). i wanted to get the veggies started and finished in the interim of waiting for my PRINCESS DIESEL moms to get a lil big bigger so i can take an abundance of clones. ive been online trying to find out as much as i can, but ive run into the same info time and time again which is very vague and basic/beginner info. im trying to find out when and how to do what needs to be done so i can get some produce going. i really cant help laughing at myself as i think that i can grow a (as ignorant as it is) illegal plant and dont seem to know how to grow a legal one(s) ![]() could someone, anyone where i need to be in order to get things started and on the way?

plants is plants, stop worrying and let the plant tell you what they need.
don't worry so much about light duration, most veggies don't care as much as pot. Though some produce far more fruit or veggies in summer than in winter, but I am not convinced it is a time thing, just a temp thing. I hit crops in early summer and then I am getting a bumper crop now. I grow tomatoes, peppers, chard, watermelon, cabbage, corn, blah blah blah. |

I tried collards. Daaaaaaaaaamn that stuff is stinky! :( I tossed it. May be beneficial to everyone but I can't stand that smell.
You'll need to do searches for each type. A search for 'Green Pepper Flowering Period' brought up this link. As far as I can tell they're an autoflower. ![]() Might want to try something similar with the others. |

Those nightshade are tropical. No photoperiod manipulation required. The collards are a biannual I believe. If you want seeds you have to give them a winter. U will need to pollinate. Look this up.
Long days = more energy= more fruit. The collards are the easiest buy they get huge - just a warning. I think kohlrabi would be good indoors. |

Hydro-Soil - this link is amazing, thank you so much, its a lil overkill but im nerdy like that so i am sure ill read all of it. - hell if they get that stinky them they are truly going to have to go, i have enough odors to deal with if you know what i mean! lol
maryjohn - i figured from the pic on the envelope that they get pretty big, so i planned to put them in the 3gl bags and just let them do their thing mexilandrace - i honestly figured that to be the greatest truth, but i figured id reach out just to be safe, its funny cause those are the thoughts that ran through my head right b4 i started laughing, "is it hard, nah it cant be hard, but what if it is, well theyre just veggies, but you dont smoke these!" yeah at that point i busted out. i have to do some cleaning up in there but once i do i am gonna take some pics of my progression. i think ill put everything under my 400MH just to be on the safe side. i'll update in a couple days with the pics, once again thanks for the assist, this grow is actually for my wife, since her thumb is on the dark side, and shes busy putting down a floating wood floor in our gym anyway

Sounds like someone is deflecting the blame from where it lies. If you didn't quarantine foreign plants before bringing them into your grow room you have no one to blame but the guy in the mirror. Besides what does any of that have to do with your veggie grow???

hey guys,
went into the garden today and the radish and collards are dead, don't know how it happened since everything else is lush and green. teh peppers are doing just fine though and ive started to see those lil white flowers!! its kinda cool i guess, to go from producing medicinal plants to food plants.. . . its like coming full circle almost.
