clone only.........I want seed from er:D

have clone only S2 beans, two girls up and goin. i would like to some how keep this strain in seed form. Ill be keepin a mother to clone off.

does anyone have experience with continued selfin? could you consider it clones in seed form? each self is a dup of the mom? what chance of a actual male appearin?

id like to try a out cross on a few legs, but need haze pollen(componant strain) BX back close as possible.

pleasure

By accident, I turned a plant hermie. I had a mature mom, bagseed, that I chopped after 48 hrs of darkness. I then forgot about it for several days and turned the light on just to see what would happen. I'm assuming the abuse turned it hermie.

Like you said, finding some similar pollen would be best. But abusing a clone may (but not likely) get you what you want. The hermie traits will most likely continue. After a few crosses, maybe you can eliminate the hermie trait.

Seeds from a "clone only" strain is a difficult proposition if you want to maintain the original genetics.

difficult proposition........

.......yes you are right on that. seems to me if usin a rodelization method, its the plants extinction factor so to say, bananas are a bit diff than a male flower.

the bud hasnt received pollen, so late in flower it produces a banana, which is somewhat hard with the pollen inside. you can pick um off the plant........anyway ya prolly know that...........so if usin this method of selfin, it would seem that a male plant would appear in the population at some point.

i have 30 beans, seems that i should find at least one male in there. shouldnt even have to be selfed again.

Good luck on getting a male, CBF. I've often wondered how many S1's would need to be grown to find a naturally acurring full male since the process isn't 100% fool proof.

i know a few people who do this that dont post online, they like having there favorites in seed for mjust incase of an emergency, they can just grow out the beans. most of them will grow out a lot more than 30 though to find a good male.

Umm you could try crossing it with a simmilliar strain, then using the process of cubing, backcross with the original mother plant to try and get the genetics reasonably close to the mother.. talk to rez, and read up about how he made sour d seeds available (a clone only strain)

wow yeah this thread is two freakin years old.

well the outcome was one male found in one of the packs i sent to my buddy F1 in cal. he made seed with the male, sent a whack of seed back to me, and i grew out a 20 run, and have one clone female from those 20 beans.

ive sent many of that generation, and the followin generation i did around, its a line of Strawberry cough that im takin some time with. originated from GEs offerin two years ago on cbay, AF sent me the HT cut of the SBcough, and when I finish up some other stuff I had planned, ill run a few males across the cut and see how they turn out.

the beans for me have been some of the best ive purchased. one of my top three smokes. smokin some fresh bud off the rack at present from that one clone I kept. aroma and clean head are what i like best.

hasnt really been any feedback from about a couple hundred seed that was let out. but most the growers ive sent bud to asked for seed, so cant be all that bad. only negative comment was how dry the sample was. that was the whole response from that tester, lol.
