i was curious about this as well since growing tomatoes is suppose to be close enough to growing herb.

I laughed so hard when I read that a few days ago. It digusted the wife to no end. then I laughed even harder. looks as though next year I will be doing all my unieating out in the garden. hahah. probable pee on the outdoor crop too. Why not its loaded with B vitamins and urea, instantly usable Nitro. that so cool someone did a study on that.

I used to keep a bucket until my wife made me stop. I got a quick crop from dead soil, but I moved on the next year. I also got a compost pile cooking with very little green stuff. If you are trying to establish a plot, it's a good source of nutrients in the npk paradigm that can get you good material to compost. and some nice carrots too.

Still, I would rather see our urine diverted to farming. Currently it goes into the water table where it causes all kinds of problems from the nutrients.

I also find it odd that most people think synthetic pee is clean (urea fertilizer), while the natural stuff is dirty. It's cleaner than much of the food we eat, and definitely cleaner than your hand if you haven't washed it in the past 10 minutes.

Cheap fertilisers use fake piss, good quality ones use real piss... it is meant to be the best source of instantly digestible Nitrogen out there.

A direct source of ammonia nitrate,, which when converted with the use of sugars and micro-bacteria makes an excellent plant feed. We tend to use urine in Spring alongside sea bird guano and then phase it out into summer/autumn months when plants and soils naturally want more P and K in their diet.

hey doc, i believe that is potassium nitrate (salt peter) and urea - which then breaks down into ammonia. lots of salts in there though, so I could be wrong.

nah, i'm pretty sure, urine is good for potassium nitrate for gunpowder, but not ammonium nitrate for high explosive.

or maybe I'm wrong...
