Building vertical scrog

So I've been doing some thinking and I want to do a vertical scrog with either 2 or 3 600s. I'm thinking of maybe using a grow tent or building my own box. What I need help with is designing something to actually hold three bare hps bulbs down the middle. Should I hang them or build something to hold each bulb separately? And how do I work on training the plants around the screen when they're enclosed in a chamber? I also want the plant count to stay around 12, with 4 pots of soil for each light.

My initial plan was to build one small stealth chamber and do a 400 watt vertical scrog grow that I could literally wheel out the screen and the the pots all at once in a sort of frame. Obviously I would just hang the bulb in this setup with some chain, and take the bulb out a hole in the top of the cab when I pull out the screen frame.

Now I have someone that wants to move into a house with me. So now I have some more room to work with and some more money. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

you only need 1 unless its going be 6 feet tall then you want 2

Yeah sorry I was a little vague. I just want to maximize the least amount of space and I was going to go vertical anyway. I'm thinking of doing atleast 2 600s. I can make two individual chambers like i was talking about, but then the exhaust setup would be a pain in the ass.

Power13 is on a distinguished road
Hanging 2 600's from chain is pretty easy. You use metal boxes to house the sockets, and then attach the chain to the boxes. Wires can run up and down the chains no problem. Lastly you need a large fan below the bulbs to blow heat up and away. I would be a bit wary of doing this in a tent without cooltubes.

NOT my pic, but as power13 said, chains make it easy to hand multiple lights.... This is from Kootenany's grow in this forum

And you see how many plants he has w/ his lights....

If you want to air cool multiple lights vertically, look at these https://www.hydroponicsoutlet.com/Coo...rfducool60.htm

It does allow you to mount lights a little towards the middle of the tube, if I've read correctly....

Thanks guys, thats exactly what I was looking for for the lights. I just need to figure something out for the chamber. I'll probably just build something. I just need a way to train the plants around the screen from the outside of the screen.

all you need is a Y connector for your fan and you can cool 2 at one time, easy as pie , and you can make two 3 foot colosseums, instead of 6 foot tall monster, you want to have space below and above your stand too, i'd also go with 2 screens, a finer one at the bottom to hold them close to the contrainners for training, then a 2nd screen like halfway to hold the buds up

thanks mrred, thats probably what ill end up doing. I'll make two individual chambers with passive intakes coming from the ground and a y at the back of each chamber close to the top. I'm thinking of using a 6"vortex and unfortunately blowing out a carbon filter. I know thats not the best way to do it, but with two chambers its the only way I can think of. Any ideas on this or which carbon filter would work best for 2 600s. Thanks

go scrubber (ducting)first cool tube (ducting) 2nd cool tube (ducting) fan , so you'll need 3 pieces of ducting,
scrubbers are designed to be sucked thru, not blown thru, thats why they have the prefilter on the outside, and excess heat will ruin your carbon scrubber faster

if you wanted to go with the 6 foot monster you could build it in 2 pieces on wheels that you slide apart to get accss to the plants

do you already have a fan? how many cfm?

I'm actually not going to use a cool tube, not if I don't need one. I might later on, but my plan now is to hang the bulb right down the middle of the chamber. I know alot of people that don't use a cooltube and still have awesome results. I know it is 4 times more efficient to suck air through a carbon filter compared to blowing it out a filter, but you can still do it. My plan is to use an oversized carbon filter with a 6" vortex attached to it pretty much right after the y i use to connect both chambers.
