Mini 100 watt Vert. Journal

Ah.. the trials and errors of growing weed. Once you catch the bug its hard to stop. I tried SWC in a pc, but didn't work. But pick up the pieces and continue. Now I'm here at this point.

Well been interested in the vertical growing and I have researched now I have employed. These are 5 UBS growing, even though stunted. Caught it early and fixed early. But my starter mix stay too wet. It was some stuff I got at lowes... ferry morris starter mix organic??? It had too much peat in it stayed too wet. I honestly only water twice since they sprouted. I had started them off in red alcohol cups. Drainage holes of course. This Monday/Tuesday they will be 2 weeks old.

Within the last 48 hours since I transplanted them they have improved alot. I'm impressed by two of them... hope they're female. Also have three others that are very small. They show alot of indica.

So far I'm pleased. What interested me is the fact that heat is generated without a reflector. There is more heat with a reflector than without. My cab is about 11 inches wide, about 23 inches long and 30 inches high... I'm too messed up to remember. But gets no higher than 85 with the light on with 2 PC fans.. no scrubber.

Edit: LMAO I've had too much beer, but I forgot to mention this is 12/12 from seed. 4am-4pm is its on time. They broke the soil the night early morning of 8/24 8/25.

the hood or reflector made of metal may be a heat collector/radiator. while the vert is surrounded by air, which doesnt collect and retain heat too well. what you are doing looks promising and i wish you the best.

It does look promising. Hope I got all the problems behind me and smooth sailing from now on... lol. But seriously yeah a reflector is nothing but a heat magnet. The temps stay good with what air circulation I have but I also noticed more radiant heat direct towards the soil. The pots seem a little warm but not bad. Ive noticed more growth within the last 20 hours or so then the last week and half. Hopefully with in the next week or so I will be able to tell what sex they are. Probably got some jems on the way if I can find them.

Two of the 3 runtish plants and outside of the cab. Yeah not too stealthly.

also.........when plants are so small dont worry about the light being up a little ways from them. esp if its pretty hot in your cab already. u always see people so worried over the first week and a half of early growth, the plant has so little roots and fan leaves that it cant even use all that much lite.. sometimes less is more

That looks great, small scale vertical. It will be interesting to see the yields. Its amazing how bright even a 100 watt hps bulb is. I'm always amazed at their great lumen conversion.

I would lst those plants once they get a little bigger. Make them into a bowl shape to follow the light.

I like the reflective material on the walls. What kind of temps do you have in there? I notice 2 pc case fans for ventilation. I assume intake is passive? How big are the holes?

Yes I'm very interested in the future M/F ratio and yeild. Hope it will be good. So we shall see.

The reflective material is insulation wrap.. pretty much packing bubble material sandwiched between foil. The fans are 92mm and 80 something. Temps are nice... most of times right around 80 but sometimes up to 85. Based on the pics... it does look like an easy bake oven but its not. The plants are loving it and starting to recover/take off.
