San Diego Extends Marijuana Collective Moratorium

The San Diego City Council has extended the ban on marijuana dispensaries and collectives for another 10 months while they decide how to regulate them. San Diego along with a small handful of other counties and cities in California have fought against allowing medical marijuana to be sold in their jurisdictions.

They filed a lawsuit contending that since marijuana is illegal (medical or not) under federal laws they don't have to allow it in their areas. San Diego has been very aggressive in shutting down dispensaries and few new ones have been able to open in the past few years.

Let's see how long it takes the SD City Council to come up with new rules for medical marijuana sales...

I thought I read somewhere that counties cannot adopt laws prohibiting something that state laws specifically authorize.

yes I realize that its illegal federally, hence their statement, but isnt their law also directly contradicting state law, i.e. an illegal law?

Yes, that was confirmed when the California Supreme Court said that San Diego & any jurisdiction in California cannot prohibit cannabis dispensaries outright. That is why they are trying to delay the inevitable as long as possible.

What's outrageous is that before the ban, there were dozens of dispensaries operating just fine in San Diego. They are doing everything they can to prevent safe access and I think the City Council should get its ass sued big time over this unnecessary delay!

San Diego's local government apparently doesn't recognize democracy. They feel so incredibly threatened. Why? Because deep down in side they need it. LOVE!

All of this is because the District Attorny's don't want to loose precious 'discretionary fund spending' on country clubs and other NON-CRIME related activities. Now they can't collect forfitures for expensive dinners and vacations for themselves while cancer patients ROT in bed. DA's are the real criminals and SD is all Mexican Mafia. Same as San Berdo.
Wait until the movie Collapse comes out. I just watched it, Mike Ruppert is a friend of mine. Bring some fresh underwear kids, the crap will come shooting out your asses. CIA recruiting LAPD to sell cocaine in south central LA. No kidding. Burn down the legal houses of death, the DA's office.

I have seen so many people say it but I think it needs to be done -

They need to be held in contempt for not performing their elected jobs. The tactics the City Council and County Board of Supervisors use are just sick. They are willingly working against the wishes of the state citizenry. I have met so many good people in the San Diego area that are being HURT by the actions of people we elected, its time we took the power in our hands and voted them out of office.

I was about to say there are dispensaries in San Diego, not in Chula Vista and quite frankly I would prefer it that way since I have family that lives in Chula. The whole Mexican cartel business going on in Tijuana would probably use dispensaries as a selling point and storing point for other drugs and possibly people, which would kill it for those of us trying to be compliant with the law.
